Well there is no point in hosting the party at Gatwick. There isn't any coffee left.

Has anyone heard Hayley advertising for "Macmillan Cancer - World's Biggest Coffee Morning" this week?
More importantly, did anyone register so that they can have Hayley round for coffee?

OK, so who took the lamp-post home as a souvenir?

I believe you're thinking of Tattenham Corner, which is at Epsom Racecourse. I doubt if Hayley's ever been there. Peter was right first time. Tattersalls are the auctioneers at Newmarket, sponsors of many a race, and Hayley has been there. www.tattersalls.com/PS It was Charlotte Church who performed at Epsom. PPS Is this where it all happened? Or even here where it came to rest? I see that the original paddle has been replaced with a gyrocopter!

where I like to look at the whole cloth of life where the woof intertwines with the weft (have I got that right? I haven't used that expression for a long time!) without getting their threads crossed!! Warp and Weft or Woofer and Tweeter I suspect the former!

The Polka dot one wasn't the one from "toast".
I have been seeing spots ever since Toast, however you are absolutely correct Graeme. Toast had larger spots. Unless they shrunk in the wash. Admin please note, this is not off-topic, it seeks to clarify an observation concerning the Womens Weekly photographs.

Thanks Belinda and thanks to Richard for pointing out the details.
I had been waiting for a new post but I see that you slipped the other pages in quietly.
Very good article and lovely pictures.

Thanks Belinda, that dress has brought some colour to the UK before the sun wakes up.
I do not recognise either of the two dresses. These must be the two which were mentioned at Gawsworth and then put in the wardrobe because the sun disappeared in UK during August.
Awaiting next scan.

Hayley might be put off coming back to the UK for a while. It has just started to snow in Bedfordshire!

It's a 3 day tour, but says nothing about only 3 venues. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that 2 or even 3 different stores could be visited each day is it? James Very true James, I had considered that to be a possibility. If that were to be the case it would be a 'whistle stop' visit to each venue, with very little time at each. When Il Divo released their book they had signings at Harrods (1pm), Bluewater (5pm) on the Monday and Borders Birmingham (am), WHS Manchester (pm) on the Saturday. So you see a variety of venues and outlets. They were also interviewed by local BBC Radio stations throughout that week. I hope that we can hear the same from Hayley on all our local radios. The information about Il Divo was provided by their website well in advance (hint, hint).

... It's time to disclose the mistake in chapter 8. The book says the American Ambassador's residence is in Hyde Park, but it's actually in Regent's Park, near the mosque. ... Well it used to be in Hyde Park, so I say give her partial credit. We Americans move around so much, who can keep up? Steve, you must have a good memory: Princes Gate
The History of 14 Princes Gate
The Embassy left the building in 1955 while Winthrop Aldrich was Ambassador, because of fears of terrorism, which had existed since the erection of the adjacent flats. So, after 101 years of American occupation, 14, Prince’s Gate moved into the hands of the ITA.
www.usembassy.org.uk/rcwinfld.html
Ambassador's Residence: Winfield House
The first to use the house as the ambassadorial residence was Winthrop Aldrich. Ambassador and Mrs. Aldrich moved in on January 18, 1955 after significant restoration had taken place: an extension was added to the front of the house to hold cloakrooms and enlarge the reception hall, the kitchens were modernized, floors replaced, electrical wiring updated and guest bedrooms improved. Perhaps the President was confused about the address.

Welcome lonelytortoise.
You will not be lonely here.
We all have to wait too long for Hayley's "In her own voice".
Be patient, I am sure that it will be worth waiting for.

With a capacity of 220 I do not think that it is a public event but I cannot believe that they would not want to share the experience with all Parisians (with outside loudspeakers perhaps). I cannot trace a performance time other than "The giant Rugby ball will be officially opened by New Zealand Prime Minister Rt. Hon Helen Clark on October 5th. " Perhaps you should try a call (or e-mail) to: Embassy Tel: 01.45.01.43.43 Fax: 01.45.01.43.44 Email: nzembassy.paris@fr.oleane.com

Not sure when Hayley is supposed to come over to Paris but the details about visiting the Rugby Ball - including open hours for the public - are now available. It is fustrating knowing that I live(d) so close to the Eiffel tower and I can't even go Hayley, Fiona and Ian (and Gerald and Kathryn) travelled to Paris by train last night for the opening concert in the Rugby Ball (tonight). Ian said:"This will be a new experience for me, I have never played inside a rugby ball before". Should we move this to the concert thread.Hayley and Gerald will be returning to New Zealand on Saturday, thus missing the rugby quarter final at Cardiff.
