This is the first opportunity we have to vote for Hayley on the weekday programme on Classic FM called "Most Wanted". For those of you who are not familiar with the programme, thirty items appear on the Claasic FM website for which you may vote. The ten "most wanted" will be played on the following day's programme. Today (and tomorrow), in readiness for Monday's programme, Hayley appears on the list. No particular song is specified - it appears as "from her new CD, Odyssey". Let's show some support and try to get her some additional airplay on the day of release in the UK! To cast your vote, go HERERoger

Thanks for the link Roger, only number 1 will do! I have voted for Hayley but my daughter wanted to vote for her too, so I temporarily disabled cookies to let her. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I tried to vote for Hayley but, it told me I had already done so. This would be pretty clever because that was the first time I had been to the website in a couple of weeks - and I didn't vote on anything the last time I was there. Keith.

I voted for Hayley as well -- it makes me proud to see her name put beside the names of so many great, historic musicians in the poll.
Cross your fingers, everyone!

This would be pretty clever because that was the first time I had been to the website in a couple of weeks - and I didn't vote on anything the last time I was there. Keith. Hi Keith, I've updated the notes I posted about this earlier this evening. There's probably a Classic FM Cookie left on your PC from a few weeks ago, it should have been cancelled or expired by now. To get round it you can do this: Open Internet Explorer (another copy, so you can continue to read these notes). Click the: Tools button - Internet Options button - General tab - Settings button - View Files button. Your Temporary Internet Files folder should now be open. You can now cancel the Settings and Internet options dialogue boxes, you only need the Temporary Internet Files folder to be open. In the Temporary Internet Files folder, Click Search (in the top menu bar). In the search box that opens, enter in the "All of part of the Filename" box "classicfm.com" and hit "Search". This should find one or more Cookie files with classicfm.com in the name. In my case they are always named: Cookie:dave@ww2.classicfm.com/ or Cookie:dave@www.classicfm.com/ Delete all the Cookies with classic fm in the name. Job done. You can now go into the Classic FM website to vote - which is what you should have been able to do in the first place. You should also get the confirmation message that your vote has been accepted. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif As soon as you have voted, and probably everytime you visit the site, the cookies will automatically be recreated. Well it worked for me, anyway! Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, It worked perfectly, thank you. My vote is now entered, trouble is, I can't remember who I voted for. Oh yes, I remember, HAYLEY!! Cheers, Keith. p.s. If we kept doing that, we could vote for Hayley as many times as we wanted, right?

Right!
I'm always into experimenting - I tried it out, and it works. But my guess is, this tactic is widely known.
I've voted 3 times - but after discovering how easy it s to cheat such a voting system, I won't enter again.
Cheers,
Gerrit

We could keep voting using that method, but they might be recording our IP address and allowing only one vote per IP.

Hehe... what a devious lot some of you are! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif As if I would even think about voting twice! They are unlikely to have any initial checks based on IP addresses, as with some ISPs (AOL for one, I think) you can actually share an IP address with other people. When I use my home network, two or 3 computers used by different members of the family all share the same IP address - the address of my proxy server (one of my computers). Think of AOL as a giant version of that - except that the AOL proxy servers are all in Virginia. Also, if they did do IP address checks initially, I'm pretty sure they would immediately warn you if you voted more than once. In which case, people with dynamic IP addresses (like me - and many AOL users!) just need to log off, wait a short while or force an IP address change, log on again and hey presto, they have a different IP address I suspect that they may do a quick check for mass voting just before the final votes are counted but I doubt if they'd pick up a few multiple votes - especially if they were spread out in time. It would be easier for them to spot and disqualify dozens or hundreds of multiple votes - but they may not even bother with this for programme polls such as Most Wanted. I jolly well hope that they have a good audit system for important polls though, such as Album of the Year. But... if they don't... it could explain why we sometimes get shock results in internet polling. So, my guess is that a few multiple votes would probably slip through the net but the more it's done from the same IP address, the more likely it is to be noticed. I think if anyone is thinking of doing this (slapped hand! ) the maxim "all things in moderation" would be good one to follow and announcing it to the World probably isn't a good idea... Cheers, Dave.

Dave it is true what you are saying about the IP address . And I think that is mostly use to find people that are doing stuff that they should not be doing.
I also voted for hayley.
