Phew, that was close! If only the Classic FM website would display the artist's names, it might attract a lot more votes but we have been down this road before. Anyway, thanks for the result, Dave.

Here we go again... again (I can't believe that I beat Roger to it ) Ave Maria (Caccini) is listed for the Most Wanted programme to be broadcast on Monday 10th October 2005 at 11 am BST. I bet it's Hayley's version (unless they are being sneaky) so.... let's get voting!!! www.classicfm.com/index.cfm?nodeId=220 i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWe can't take it for granted either... Hayley only came 7th last time!!! Dave

I have just looked at the Classic FM website for the results of today's Most Wanted vote. If 'Ave MAria' had not been successful, it would almost certainly remain on the voting list for a few more days (this is normal practice). But it is not there now. However, when I look at the ten most wanted items played this morning, it does not appear at numbers 1 - 6, not at 8, 9 or 10. Nothing is listed beside No 7. This suggests that she may have been voted the seventh most wanted (which would be a highly satisfactory result), but did anyone hear the broadcast and confirm this to be the case? Thanks, Roger

Roger Hi Roger, I did record it and I've just checked what was no. 7 - it was Elgar's Introduction and Allegro for Strings... but it was not played. Ave Maria was not in the top 10 I did wonder about the relative lack of response in this thread and especially in the official forum thread... perhaps several people just didn't bother to vote this time? Not sure how we can address that, if it was indeed the reason... any ideas? The other possibility is that "our" combined votes are but a small proportion of the total votes cast and that unless it's obvious that it's Hayley (e.g. Bridal Ballad or if she's named) the average Classic FM listener will simply vote for their favourite tune. I guess we can't really do much about that... Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
I think your final paragraph accounts for the lack of votes from the public at large. I don't think we can do much except to try to put up the link earlier in the day. Unfortunately, I don't get home from work and online until around 6pm.
If they name her on another occasion, we will see if the result is more favourable. If so, I think that would prove our point.
Cheers, Roger

Hello Dave and Roger! I noticed the voting list wasn't updated at 5pm on Saturday. I didn't come on line on Sunday, so I was only able to vote first thing on Monday morning. I think Dave has hit the nail on the head, because only people who follow Hayley closely would know that she has recorded Caccini's "Ave Maria". Bye for now, Richard

I have just voted. I think it is ideal if Classic FM shows the performer.

Well we managed to get Quanta Qualia up to number 3 today... and yes, they did play Hayley's version! Jane Jones the presenter was surprised that Hayley didn't win (the Anvil Chorus won). Well Jane, if you'd bothered to actually name Hayley on the voting page, I'm sure she would have been number 1 ! But... well done everyone, it was more airplay for Hayley!

Well said Dave! I've just looked at today's Most Wanted chart, and it doesn't say what was at No.10! I bet Patrick Hawes isn't more popular than Mozart very often, but that's really thanks to Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThank you for voting everybody! Richard
