Hello everyone, It's confirmed: Hayley's coming very soon to Paris! The date isn't indicated but I don't think I'll be there to see her because I believe they're installing the giant ball after my departure to the UK All my family is going though Stephany

Two shows within three days in December. I'm sure you will enjoy your time there! Thomas

You are absolutely right, Thomas I believe there's also a massive Kiwi gathering on October 12th in Paris. Dave Dobbyn will be there but no word of Hayley's possible presence. Stephany

Hi everyone, I just received this email from 'Tourism New Zealand'. . It seems that we in the media team, knowing that it would make a great story, were a bit quick off the mark in uploading it to the website. It has since been removed. Please keep an eye on the website though as the piece will be uploaded as soon as details of Hayley's performance are confirmed. My apologies for any inconvenience caused. More about this Paris event from City Beat. It will be reserved for 'select guests' so I don't think my sister & parents can go to this one.
Stephany

www.stuff.co.nz/northland/4200754a6015.htmlskill on show at Rugby World Cup Auckland | Saturday, 15 September 2007 A Rodney-built giant inflatable rugby ball structure is on its way to France for the Rugby World Cup where it will be officially opened on October 5. Prime Minister Helen Clark is expected to open it as she will be in Belgium on October 3 for the 90th anniversary of the battle of Passchendaele in World War One. The 12-metre high and 25-metre long venue promoting New Zealand as a tourist destination was built at Kelly Park Film Studios in Silverdale. Made of French pvc, it will be inflated in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris during the cup's final stages, probably on September 29. The ball can hold up to 220 people, its skin providing a giant oval screen for promotional videos and short films. It aims to maximise the impact of the All Blacks presence at the cup and is part of a five-year build-up for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand. The ball will be taken to other venues. More than 40,000 people are expected to experience the virtual New Zealand when they visit the ball in Paris, says Tourism Minister Damien O'Connor. A revolving door allows people in and out while maintaining the interior air pressure with two air pumps expelling 8000 litres a second. Venue events are expected to include entertainers like Dave Dobbyn, Hayley Westenra, Hollie Smith and Hinewehi Mohi, while New Zealand chef Peter Gordon provides a special menu for functions. The marketing initiative is led by Tourism New Zealand and New Zealand Inc. The ball was conceived by Angus Hennah and the venue designed by Mike Mizrahi of Inside Out Productions, which also made a three-storey Louis Vuitton suitcase that toured the world for the Louis Vuitton 150th anniversary. It took nine months to make the ball and the venue will take five days to construct on site. The ball was shipped from Auckland on August 16. Hi not sure if i should have put this in this thread or the one i started way back re the ball before Hayley was involved. What an eyeful - all $4.6m of it hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=offtopic2&thread=1184242183&page=1I guess this is the right one as it does mention Hayley. It looks like Hayley will be seeing the NZ prime minister in Belguim Belinda

Ian said:"This will be a new experience for me, I have never played inside a rugby ball before". Should we move this to the concert thread.Hayley and Gerald will be returning to New Zealand on Saturday, thus missing the rugby quarter final at Cardiff.

Hi Drew, Thanks for the information. Do you know by any chance if this is a public event? My parents and sister would love to go but they don't even know at what time it starts. Of course they won't be at the Rugby watch, they don't want to be disappointed by a defeat Stephany
