Hi Drew, Thanks for the information. Do you know by any chance if this is a public event? My parents and sister would love to go but they don't even know at what time it starts. Of course they won't be at the Rugby watch, they don't want to be disappointed by a defeat Stephany Steph, I'm guessing sometime this evening? Your sister could take a chance and head down after 4pm and see if anyone has heard anything.. ~Chris

With a capacity of 220 I do not think that it is a public event but I cannot believe that they would not want to share the experience with all Parisians (with outside loudspeakers perhaps). I cannot trace a performance time other than "The giant Rugby ball will be officially opened by New Zealand Prime Minister Rt. Hon Helen Clark on October 5th. " Perhaps you should try a call (or e-mail) to: Embassy Tel: 01.45.01.43.43 Fax: 01.45.01.43.44 Email: nzembassy.paris@fr.oleane.com

Hi Chris and Drew, Thanks for the advice. I just called the New Zealand Embassy in Paris (it was a bit strange to speak French again!) and they told me that the event is absolutely private - there is no way we can enter the Giant Rugby Ball tonight. A shame, really. Stephany

The event is now listed on Fiona's official site. Fiona has planned many concerts in NZ after this one so I suppose she will also leave tomorrow? Both Ian and Fiona are heading back to NZ fairly soon for a bit of R&R and a load of concerts. I think that Fiona just gets better and better every time I see her. Last night, she was fairly emotional and gave a short speech on-stage which had haunting echoes of something I had said earlier in the day. I hope that they both have a safe journey and a fantastic time down there..

Thanks for the info, Chris. Fiona is indeed a star performer! I just texted my sister and she is probably going to the Eiffel Tower after her day at school (around 5-6pm). Her University is at one metro station so it should be a matter of minutes for her to go there. Stephany

I assume that she knows the most important phrases like "Go All Blacks!" and "NZ Rules!" i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMake sure she takes her camera.. I think we'd all love to see some real life pictures of the NZ rugby ball in front of la Tour Eiffel, just in case it gets burnt down after someone loses their next game

It's probably a good thing that I'm not in Paris at the moment. If I see Hayley, I'll be thinking 'oh no, another All Black supporter' Having said that, I do hope she gets some time to do shopping in Paris and practice her French. As long as she doesn't say she is a Kiwi, the Parisians will be very friendly . Stephany

There is an interesting video on TV3 about the Rugby Ball's inauguration in Paris. No images of Hayley, though. They are afraid that the French might burn the Ball after tonight's match You can watch the interview here : Giant NZ rugby ball opened underneath Eiffel TowerStephany
