The latest computer model forecast is a bit better. The low pressure in the North Sea is further North and so is the rain - it's now North of London Afternooon temperature 17 degrees C, midnight 10 to 11 degrees C, this is the same as last year, similar wind direction (SW) and a bit less windy so not feeling as cold. It will be interesting to see how the forecast changes over the next few days. Personally, I much prefer it to see a 7 day forecast start off poor, as it did, as any changes are usually for the better. Much better than the other way round!

Hello folks! Recently both long-range and short-range weather forecasts have been very unreliable, so it's best to be prepared for bad weather just in case. Remember, no umbrellas are allowed in the courtyard because they obstruct other people's view. I've got some more information for Lothar! Yesterday evening I checked at Victoria, and I can confirm that there is a frequent all-night National Express coach service from Victoria Coach Station (Gate 9) to Stansted Airport. Services A6 and A7 run every 15 to 30 minutes all night long, and the coaches pick up at Victoria Rail Station (bus stop B in Grosvenor Gardens), Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch. Service A7 also stops at Liverpool Street Station at the times previously stated, while the A6 goes via Golders Green. The scheduled journey time from Victoria is 92 minutes (A6) or 97 minutes (A7). The fare from Victoria is still £10 one way. Night bus N22 runs half-hourly from Kingston to Piccadilly Circus and stops at Hyde Park Corner. Only FIVE days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

GOOD NEWS! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI've just had another look at the South West Trains web site, and it now shows an additional train leaving Hampton Court at 00:12 on 16th June (just after Hayley's concert), arriving at London Waterloo at 00:49. The previous train departs Hampton Court at 23:24 and runs to Wimbledon, change at Surbiton for Waterloo. I'll repeat the link here:- www.swtrains.co.ukBye for now, Richard

I tell you what isn't quite so good news, i wa listening to LBC News 1152 [London Radio Station] this morning and they did their first long range forecast to inclue Wednesday, the words sunny with hot temperatures in the day and a mild night didn't appear, instead we got blustery winds with showers heading in from the west through the day. Now of course i'm assuming that the weather forecast is correct five days before hand when they can struggle with just one, hopefully they're a bit off and either Tuesday or Thursday ends up with it. As welcome a development that the additional train serivce is, it does actually create mroe problems but just further down the line in every sense of the word. So i was wondering if thsoe who have been to Hampton Court before for soemthing like this could tell me roughly what time things end on the night. Not necessarily as soon as Hayley and JUose walk off of the stage, a bit flexibility in case i wwant to do things but you get the idea?? Also with the weather in mind and with myself not having been to this kind of even before, dress wise, what's the deal? Smart, Smar- Casual?? Just cheking in case after looking at my wardrobe i feel i might need to go shoping before thd day. Thanks a lot, always appreciated Nick W,

Hi Nick, The dress for the day is smart-casual. If I remember correctly, it finished about 10:30 last year and was followed by a firework display. And, for any who did not know, or have forgotten, there will be a 75 minute interval. Blustery winds shouldn't be a problem as the concert takes place in a courtyard, surrounded on all sides by the Palace buildings. Although the refreshments are available outside on the east lawn. Again, if I remember correctly. Roger? As for rain - my skin is waterproof. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifKeith.

The concert itself tends to be of similar length to any other, the only difference being that the interval lasts for 75 minutes. I think we were out of the grounds by about 11 o'clock (is that right, gentlemen?). As for the dress code, a lot of people dress up for the occasion but it is not essential. I think "respectable" would be sufficient. We wore out HWI sweatshirts last year and got away with it! Then again, they're pretty smart, I guess! Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, Nick. Five days to go..... is that right Richard? LOL All the best, Roger

LOL All the best, Roger I agree that smart casual is the name of the game, I'll even be wearing my anorak unless the weather is warm and dry - but not my trainers i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Last year, there was a firework display after the concert so I think it was well after 11pm when we got away, I think it will be 11pm at the latest this year (no fireworks). As for the weather forecasts, they will probably change daily over the weekend - this morning's one sounds like the one I saw last night and now, it's already looking warmer and could be dry in the South East - with high pressure not far away. The showery/cooler air seems to be forecast to happen a day or two earlier - they might make up their minds by Monday!

Dear Halyey-fans, many many thanks for your information about my way back to the airport. But now I'm a little bit confuse about all these possibilities. Tomorrow I will try to compare your suggestions at the map of London, which I've got yesterday from amazon.co.uk.
What is the best way??? At first to use the additional train from Hampton Court to waterloo station and what is the next step in direction to the airport???
Or 2nd go to Victoria station and then by National Express to the airport??? But how I can take my first step from Hampton Court to Victoria station???
Interesting is to know that I can not use an umbrella inside the Hampton Court. Today in the news on TV they sad it will be better weather conditions during next days in Germany but I hope in UK too.
Regards, Lothar

Regards, Lothar This is what i would suggest >> WaterlooTake the Jubilee Line towards Stanmore or Jubilee Line towards Wembley Park Westminster StationTake the District Line towards Ealing Broadway or Circle Line towards Victoria Reach destination, Victoria StationFrom there you can either cacth the coach to the airport from Victoria Coach Station itself or wait for it to sop at the Train station. There is a service leaving the former at 0:30 which could get if there are no delays and you wish to of course. ***Enter Michael Fish*** As we look further into next week, Wednesday will see a mixture of British weather. However cloud will be the dominant feature with it being joned by either sunny speels or light showers throughout the day. Temperatures will range from a low of 9 degrees to a high of 18 egrees celsius. The sun will set at 21:19 It'l have to do, no need for a waterproof or umbrella i don't think, and besides i don't own either. HA What's wrong with getting a bti wet anyway? It's only when it's constantly raining [maybe hail], bitterly cold and combined with a chilling wind for 90 minutes at a football match that you start to get a bit peeved. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThanks to all for there insight from last year on times and dress, Keith, Roger, Dave... Hello folks, it's me yet again! Firstly, I have some more information for poor, confused Lothar. The 00:12 additional train from Hampton Court arrives at Waterloo just too late to connect with the last Underground services. However, the train stops at Clapham Junction at 00:39, from where a Southern Railway train departs at 01:02, arriving at Victoria at 01:09. Alternatively, the train from Hampton Court stops at Vauxhall at 00:44, from where several night buses run to Victoria. If all else fails, Victoria is only about 15 minutes walk from Vauxhall, straight up Vauxhall Bridge Road. I think changing trains at Clapham Junction is your easiest route. The train from Hampton Court should arrive at platform 10, and the train to Victoria will depart from platform 12 or 14. Secondly, I don't want to scare anybody, but there could be a surprise guest during Hayley's concert on Wednesday! Hampton Court Palace is haunted by the ghost of Catherine Howard, King Henry VIII's fifth wife who he beheaded for adultery. He might have been a pain in the neck, but at least she never had another headache! Anyway, she might appear during the concert and sing "I Ain't Got No Body!" There's nothing to worry about because she's completely armless! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOnly FOUR days to go, then you can all get your revenge! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Hi all, many thanks for your traffic information again.
Are there any possibilities to buy a ticket for underground, bus etc. for the whole area of London and for 24 hours or more?
Your new suggestions for my way back home I will check tomorrow again. Perhaps on Tuesday morning I will go to the importent places of my yourney at night, so that I get an real impressions ot the stations. I think it is more safe as when I go to this stations at night the first time.
Greetings, Lothar

Hi Lothar,
You can buy a London travelcard from the Underground stations and this will cover the Underground and the Buses. You can choose a card for more than 1 day.
If you are going to be visiting all the sights in London its worth it. You probably wouldnt need to go for zones 1-6, everything of interest is mainly contained in zones 1-2.
Unfortunately the travelcard wont cover the rail travel to Hampton Court Palace. Im unsure about the buses though.
Good luck,
Emmett

I am sorry to disagree with Emett. London Transport is divided into 6 zones. Hampton Court is in zone 6. A one day off-peak Travelcard for zones 1-6 (£6.00 for an adult) is valid from 09.30 and for any journey before 04.30 the following day. This Travelcard is valid for Tube, most buses and National Rail within the zones. A zone 1-6 Travelcard will be the cheapest way to travel from central London to Hampton Court and back.. London Transport has an excellent website including a journey planner at www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/Tickets and Travelcards at:- www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tickets/2005/one-day/travelcard-day.shtmlA very pleasant way to travel to Hampton Court from central London is by London river services from Westminster Pier about 2 and a half hours. Anyway I am looking forward to Hayley's performance.

Hi TonyB,
Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here and I would like to ask you a favour. At Hampton Court, you MUST come up and introduce yourself. I will be one of those wearing my HWI sweatshirt - bright royal blue with gold embroidery. I may be wearing my jacket, but I will have the sweatshirt on under it.
We love to meet new friends when we go to concerts, so I for one will be looking forward to seeing you there.
And, thank you for such clear travel information. That is very helpful indeed.
Cheers, keith.

Hello again everybody! Any London Travelcard is valid on most local bus services throughout London regardless of Zone, but to use the train from Central London to Hampton Court you do require Zones 1-6. Only THREE days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard
