Hello again everybody! If right is right, left is wrong, but if right is wrong, left is right! Of course it all depends on whether you're going in or coming out, or coming in or going out! In case we don't know whether we're coming or going, let's forget about the maze and look forward to the concert! Hi Richard is that a hint for the maze? Sounds confusing to me. Im just going to have to take my changes with this one. My back up plan is a hedgecutters comes in usefull when I run out of time. Emmett

Morning all, Well the weather here in North Londont his morning could be tad better, hopefully it's not worse that this at HC in 12 days time. Ok, here's the deal, i'll be doing a dummy run later today from where i live to Hampton Court station and then back into central London again. On the Festival website, it speaks of additional services being laid on by South West Trains to take concert goeers back to Waterloo shortly after the end of the performacne, does anyone know how many of these services there actually are and how much time there is between the end of the concert and the train leaving? Wouldn't be want to be springint away Linford Chrstie style as soon as the Hayley leaves the stage. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAre you lot all driving to Hampton Court out of interest? Oh year, by the wya, i'm goint too, can't believe the price of thsoe tickets on the black market that Joe spoke about, i'm in that same block just a few rows back and paid just shy of that when they first went on sale. Not much profit in it for a tout by the looks of it. Hmm thanks a lot Nick,

Hello Nick! I don't know what time the last train leaves for London, but if all else fails, the last 111 bus to Kingston leaves well after 00.30 hours, then there are all-night buses from Kingston to Central London. I only live about seven miles away, and I will be going by bus. The following link will take you direct to the Information page on the Festival web site:- www.hamptoncourtfestival.com/general.aspFor train information, visit www.swtrains.co.ukOnly 12 more days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Hi Guys,
I just checked the SWS website and on their online timetable they list the last train running from Hampton Court - Waterloo at 11.30pm. Maybe they have'nt updated the system to take into account the festival, so I have just emailed them to enquire about the late services. I hope to hear back soon.
I will be travelling back to Earls Court so if everything else fails I will be hopping on the bus Richard recommended.
Bye,
Emmett

Hi Gentlemen, and what's about me ? Perhaps I have to fly from Hampton Court to Stansted Airport by my own wings i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOr are any possibilities to go by train, tube or bus? I'm not sure if I will go back at first to London City during the night and from there in the early morning to Stansted Airport (departure 06:25 a.m.) - or if the decission is better to go from Hampton Court to the Stansted Airport directly? What you will suggest to me? Regards, Lothar

Hi Lothar,
One of the other guys will have to answer that for you. I am from the other end of the country and know nothing about these things for the London area.
Come in guys. Can you help Lothar with this?
Keith.

Monring Lothar, Arriving at Stansted you have one fairly route into London. The "Stansted Express" [train] leaaves the airport every 15 minutes at the busiest times of the day and every half hour after that. It will take you directly to Liverpool Street Station possibly via Tottenham Hale Station but that depends upon the time of day. They estimate that the journey should take around 45 minutes to get from Stansted to Liverpool Street. I've been to the aiport quite a few times but ahve never used the train so we'll just have to take their word on it , saying taht i haven't heard anything bad about the service up to now.
Once at Liverpool Street you'll need to go an purchase another ticket which will allow you to use pretty much all of the public transport. I suggest a Travel Card for Zones 1,2,3,4,5 & 6. Becuase of the iime of the concert you will probably also need to get a Travel Card for off peak times as well. I'd advise that you just check all this with the person at the ticekt desk though.
From there it's time to enjoy the very best that the London Underground has to offer [which for me yesterday was lots of annoyance from the Victoria Line but anyway]. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
Take the Central Line westbound i believe, to Bank Station, where you get off and change onto the Waterloo and City Line which is non stop to London Waterloo Station. Once off of the train head for Main Line services and the watch the timetable board thingie for what seems like ages until a train terminating at Hampton Court Station appears. From Waterloo unless you encounter any delays, it's 38 minutes or thereabouts. I did the journey myself yesterday at rush hour and timed it both ways and it was the same each time give or take 10-20 seconds.
So let's see, how long should that take you in a best case scenario.....
45 mins from Stansted to Liverpool Street. 15 mins from Liverpool Street to Waterloo via Bank. 38 mins from Lonodon Waterloo to Hampton Court.
Add on at lest 10 mintues worth of delays and standing around for each and the total is.....Let's call it 2hrs 10mins from when the train departs London Stansted to when it pulls into Hampton Court.
However and i hope this doesn't happen, if something brakes on the network it could be a quite a bit longer.
Not knowing your flight times and if you agree with all of taht here are some links that will provide you will all you need to know >>
Stansted Express timetable and webstie :: www.stanstedexpress.com/
London Tube, Trains and Tram map :: www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/pdfdocs/lon_con.pdf
SW Trains [Main Line Train Service] :: www.swtrains.co.uk
Buses and other forms of trnansport :: www.tfl.gov.uk
The main problem i see for you is the return leg, it could be ticky enough and i live in London, with your flight the following morning there's gonna be a time where no trains are running if you don't get to Liverpool Street by 2330 or 2359 which can take you back to the airport. If you can't make that ime and you still want to make it to the aiport, i guess your'e limited to two options, get a taxi or a Coach with a company like National Express from somewhere like London Victoria.
If others who avhe local knwoedge could just check through that and make sure i'm no t sending Lothar thr wrong way, might be a good idea.
Oh and thanks to all those who answered my questions earlier in the thread, Richard, Emmett e.t.c. Much appreciated. If as i hope, SW Trains' additional services are alte enough, then the same must go for Kings Cross, i'll be checking their timetable later on today. Should be alright.
Hope that helps, if you ahve any further questions i'll see what i can do.
Nick,

Hallo Nick, Many, many thanks to you for your detailed information and support. Many thanks to all other “supporters” too. Nick, now I want to give you a short answer only. Tomorrow I will look at the links of London transport system time tables, you sent to me. And then maybe I will have some more questions. I agree with you: During the day it will be no problem to go from the airport to the City of London and to Hampton Court, but after concert, this will be difficult. I will prepare myself at best as possible. One possibility to go during the night by taxi to the airport is interesting too. What way is shorter – to go by taxi from Hampton Court to the airport directly or from points like Waterloo Station? Could you tell me approximately, how much it is to go by taxi these routes? I believe it will be cheaper to use a transport like National Express from somewhere like London Victoria. National Express is this something like a shuttle to the airport? Is Victoria Station the best place to change? Do you want to suggest?: First: From Hampton Court by train to Victoria Station Second: From Victoria Station by shuttle (National Express) to airport Stansted. Is this description correct? I ordered from www.amazon.co.uk a map of London. I hope this map will arrive at me a.s.a.p. next days. Nick, do you visit the concert at Hampton Court on June, 15 th by yourself also? I hope so. Best regards, Lothar

I just checked the SWS website and on their online timetable they list the last train running from Hampton Court - Waterloo at 11.30pm. Hello again everybody! A new South West Trains timetable starts on 12th June 2005, which states the last train from Hampton Court to Waterloo is at 23:24, changing at Surbiton. This is the normal last departure time, but the on-line timetable does not give any details of the additional services for the Hampton Court Palace Festival. Knowing the poor quality of customer services on the railways, I hope South West Trains respond to Emmett's email in time! Only TEN days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

To Lothar, Emmett and other Hayley fans going to Hampton Court. I was at a loose end since I made my earlier posts, so I've been making some enquiries! First the good news for Lothar. There is a National Express night coach service A7 from Liverpool Street Station direct to Stansted Airport at 02:32, 03:02, 03:32, 04:07 and 04:32, scheduled journey time 65 minutes. Fare £10 one-way, pay on board, cash only. The coach departs from bus stop F in Bishopsgate, just outside the station. Incidentally the first Stansted Express train leaves Liverpool Street at 05:00. Now the possible bad news. According to the Travel Centre at Waterloo, there is an additional train from Hampton Court to Waterloo at 00:12 after the opening concert with Andrea Bocelli on 7th June, but this train is not shown on the computer as running after the concert on 15th June. This may be an error due to the timetable change on 12th June, but if not, the last train is 23:24 from Hampton Court, change at Surbiton for Waterloo. If this is correct, the last 111 bus from Hampton Court to Kingston is soon after 00:40. All-night buses from Kingston are:- 24-hour route 85 to Putney, 24-hour route 285 to Heathrow Airport (wrong airport Lothar!), Night bus N22 to Central London (Piccadilly Circus), Night bus N213 to West Croydon, which stops a short walk from East Croydon Station. I believe all these routes run half-hourly every night. There are several all-night bus routes from Central London to Liverpool Street Station, but I don't think there's a direct night route from Waterloo. If I find out anything different I'll let you know, and good luck Emmett with your email (you're going to need it)! At least getting to Hampton Court shouldn't be a problem, but let's keep everything crossed! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Further to my previous post, I now have some more detailed information about the late-night bus services from Hampton Court. Bus 111 runs every 15 minutes to Kingston with the last bus scheduled to depart from Hampton Court at 00:53, but it might run a few minutes early. Going the other way, the last 111 to Heathrow Airport via Hounslow departs from Hampton Court soon after midnight, but there are two later journeys to Hounslow only. Bus R68 runs every 20 minutes from Hampton Court Station (over the bridge) to Richmond, with the last bus departing just after midnight. There are two more all-night bus services from Kingston:- 24-hour route 65 runs half-hourly to Ealing Broadway via Richmond. Night bus N77 runs hourly (at approx. xx:55) to Trafalgar Square and Aldwych via Wimbledon and Clapham Junction. This is a more direct route to Central London than the N22, which runs half-hourly via Twickenham, Richmond and Putney. The N77 also runs hourly to Tolworth via Surbiton. The other night buses all run half-hourly as stated in my previous post. Only NINE days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the info for the travel arrangements. Richard and Nick you two should set up your own tourist board, you are doing a much better job than those lot. SWS still havent got back to me after another few emails..........I think I'll jam them with emails or send a virus or two........lol
Richard, do you know how far Kingston is from Hampton Court, is it walkable?. How far is it to Central London by foot, its looking like an option..........
Lothar, getting a taxi from Hampton to Stansted would be very expensive better of getting one from Central London. The best option is getting one of the buses Richard mentioned and then get the train from Central London to Stansted.
Also I will try and contact SWS this week and find out about the times, I might just ring them.
Good luck.
Emmett

Hallo Nick, hallo Richard, hallo Emmett, many thanks for all information about my journey you made. At first I hope I can comprehand and understand these different possibilities. I ordered a map or city guide from amazon.co.uk, but till today it does not arrive at me. I think I have to fake my survival package with me. Regards, Lothar
