I seen Siobhan live on her recent Irish tour. The medieval town of Carlingford (probably my favourite place in Ireland) was a stunning, although wet, location. The old church, now a heritage centre, overlooked Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains.
She sang some traditional Irish (Siuil A Run, She Moved Through The Fair) and Welsh songs (Cariad, My Little Welsh Home), as well as songs from Tristan & Isolde, Bring Him Home, The Rose and Black Is The Colour.
There also was I Wanna Hold Your Hand (Beatles) and an excellent Cranberries cover (Dreaming My Dreams). My favourite though was Cyfri'r Geifr (Counting The Goats). Martin referred to this song in an earlier post. Such a catchy song, with a very fast tempo as it neared the end, but Siobhan never missed a note. Truly outstanding finale to a fantastic concert.
Managed to speak to Siobhan afterwards (and her parents) for a few minutes. She was very pleasant and down to earth, and happily signed CDs and posed for photographs.
Siobhan said she hoped to return to Ireland next year for more concerts. I hope she does.

Sadly, a very small audience at Chelmsford last night, but Siobhan sang beautifully. Her set list included all the songs mentioned in the post above, and more. Siobhan and Phillippa Lusty will hopefully sing together at a Christmas concert in December - date and location not yet confirmed. In other news:- Not far from Leicester

I'll be there for sure. I have been frustrated at not being able to get to see Siobhan this year. Also I'm keen to see Katie live. Classical Reflection I saw live not long ago, and will cerainly enjoy seeing them again. So a good one..

Hi, I went last Saturday to Oberhausen, Germany to see Siobhan Owen in concert. It was a wonderful experience...meeting Siobhan and her parents, and see her in Concert. The concert in Oberhausen was the last concert of 5, she did in Germany. Later this year Siobhan will take part in a big show, Excalibur, The Celtic Rock Opera, with a lot of concerts in Germany. Read more on her Facebook page, or Website. Joyce.
