Last night I had a dream with Siobhan in it. My school was in a room, having a sleepover, and the movie (VHS) that was put in was an ad for Siobhan! It played Ave Maria and didn't show the album cover. But how cool is that? I thought it was real... until I woke up!

It played Ave Maria and didn't show the album cover. But how cool is that? I thought it was real... until I woke up! That's so funny! Siobhan wondered was it a nightmare? Siobhan gave a 40 minute Lunch Hour Recital yesterday (17 songs - a mixture of classical and Celtic). She was allowed to take the day off school to do it. The recital was recorded by 2 radio stations to be aired at a later date. She did very well. We were so proud of her (as usual!). Wishing you more pleasant dreams. Sheila and Siobhan

No it wasn't a nightmare! It was a very grand dream- too bad I woke up!
What songs were sung at the Lunch Hour Recital? And the fact that Siobhan got to miss school is lucky!!! (even though educations are important, its always fun to miss a day or so!)

What songs were sung at the Lunch Hour Recital? And the fact that Siobhan got to miss school is lucky!!! (even though educations are important, its always fun to miss a day or so!) Recital songs were: A) The Aviary - song cycle by Richard Rodney Bennett 1) The Bird's Lament 2) The Owl 3) The Early Nightingale 4) The Widow Bird 5) The Lark B) The Insect World - song cycle by Richard Rodney Bennett 6) The Insect World 7) The Fly 8) Glow-Worms 9) Clock-a-Clay 10. The Lilac Tree - George H. Gartlan 11. The Stuttering Lovers - Trad. Irish 12. The Piper From Over the Way - May H. Brahe 13. My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose - Trad. Scottish (R.Burns) 14. Down By The Sally Gardens (acapella) - Trad. Irish 15. My Little Welsh Home - W.S. Gwynn Williams 16. Perfect Day (from Peter Rabbit and Friends) - Miriam Stockley 17. Lilium (from Elfen Lied anime) - Kayo konishi & yukio Kondou Siobhan doesn't like taking time off school, because she doesn't like to get behind. She always keeps up with her homework, even when she has activities on in the evening. She intends to go to Adelaide University's Conservatorium of Music to study Classical Voice when she completes High School (in 3½ years). However, the odd day off is good Sheila

Great songlist! Yes, taking a bunch of school days off at a time is not fun later, yet I enjoy having the odd day off too. Will you post the Recital after it is aired on the radio?

We've received the CD of Siobhan's recital, so the tracks will be going up on Siobhan's website in a few days. I'll let you know when they're up.
Siobhan was invited to sing at a recent concert "A Celtic Celebration" at St Peters Cathedral in Adelaide. Siobhan sang "My Lagan Love" and "Siuil a Run' acapella and without need of a mic. She was up in the choir loft and her voice was carried beautifully around the Cathedral by the wonderful acoustics! It was heavenly! We will receive a CD from that concert, which I will upload also.

Excellent voice for someone so young.
I just listened to samples from Siobhan's Purely Celtic CD. My favourite is My Lagan Love - the best version I've heard of this song!
Best of luck for the future Siobhan.

My favourite has always been My lagan Love too, although recently Siobhan sang "Down by the Sally Gardens" unaccompanied and it was divine! Sheila (Siobhan's mum)

Hello Sheila, I really enjoyed the "Recitals Australia Lunch Hour Concert" set. Siobhan has such a lovely voice, wonderfully complimented by the piano. Best wishes to you both, Joe
