Hello Sheila, I really enjoyed the "Recitals Australia Lunch Hour Concert" set. Siobhan has such a lovely voice, wonderfully complimented by the piano. Best wishes to you both, Joe Thanks for the feedback Joe. We just love the Richard Rodney Bennett song cycles "The Aviary" and "The Insect World". As you said the piano and voice accompany each other extremely well. Sheila

An update on 14 year old Siobhan.
Siobhan has had a successful couple of months, winning both of her sections in the Adelaide Eisteddfod - Vocal Solo and Folk Song. She has sung solo in St Peters Cathedral for the Graduate Singers' Celtic Celebration concert, gained a Merit Award in the Metropolitan Male Choir Scholarship, sung live on Radio Adelaide and on ABC Adelaide radio and gave a very popular performance at the Kapunda Celtic Festival. She has been booked for the Fleurieu Folk Festival, the Celtica '08 Festival and "Carols by the Creek" concert. She has also been approached to perform at Laura Folk Fair and the Australian Celtic Festival next year.
Videos from the Kapunda Celtic Festival will be uploaded to YouTube soon.

We will be putting some Kapunda Celtic Festival videos up on YouTube soon. Siobhan is singing as a guest artist with the Metropolitan Male Choir this Sunday and we'll also video that and upload to youtube if possible. Siobhan is very excited because Aled Jones is coming to Adelaide on October 20th and has agreed to meet her for a brief chat. It's a shame she can't perform with him, but he's on a tight schedule and can't fit the rehearsal time in. Siobhan comes from the village next to where Aled is from in North Wales. They have both sung as soloists in Cathedral choirs and have both sung with the Metropolitan Male Choir. So they have a bit in common! Siobhan Owen and Aled Jones - Adelaide Festival Theatre, October 20 2008 As you can see, we got to meet Welsh singer/presenter Aled Jones after his Adelaide Festival Theatre performance. After hearing about Siobhan - who (like Aled) was born in North Wales and is asoloist in Adelaide's St Francis Xavier Cathedral Choir - Aled invited Siobhan and her parents to his Adelaide show to meet him. It was suggested that Siobhan give Aled a CD with some of her material on (which she did) so we hope Aled gets a chance to listen and enjoy it sometime. As for the show - it was fantastic! Aled really is a great performer and a very warm and amusing person. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We wish him all the best for the rest of his Australian tour. Siobhan with Mirusia Mirusia is a beautiful soprano soloist from Australia who has been touring with Andre Rieu for the last 2 years. She met Siobhan on Myspace and is a big fan of Siobhan's music. Mirusia asked to meet Siobhan after Andre's Adelaide show. As usual, the show was spectacular and Mirusia amazing. They were great, and My Lagan Love sang acapella was excellent. Siobhan's version is still the best I've heard Siobhan's CD is excellent by the way. I forgot to comment on it. All songs are great, but my favourites are Siuil A Run, My Lagan Love, Skye Boat Song and Amazing Grace. Looking forward to hearing more of Siobhan's music in the future.

Siobhan met her myspace friend Cassidy for the first time and they sang this together with no practice. Siobhan (Soprano) sang the melody, while Cassidy (Alto) provided the harmony (and a little impromptu accompaniment on the harp!). Apologies for the low quality video, which was taken with Catriona's (Cassidy's mum) mobile phone. Just close your eyes and listen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGYpQU-ZnR4 Check out more of Siobhan's videos on www.youtube.com/sharbas

Here is a video of Siobhan singing and playing harp at the National Folk Festival in Canberra, Australia. This was Siobhan's first interstate Festival and only the second major performance with the harp! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MiDhcuDi84
