Hello Sheila, I've very pleased that Siobhan has two nominations. Not to burst your bubble, but I've not listened to any of the other artists. So I will do that and vote fairly. Best wishes, Joe

Siobhan put three new songs up on Youtube from her performance at the Australian Celtic Festival 2009 Down by the Sally GardensDark IniseoghainSiuil a Run (acapella)Apparently it's the year of the Welsh so being of Welsh heritage, she was invited to sing both Australian and Welsh national anthems at the opening ceremony!!!. Hopefully someone made a recording of it. Her voice lately is absolutely stunning. I can't wait for her second CD to be released.

I really like Siobhan. Sheila e-mailed me on my website and told me about her. I think she's quite unique. There should be more recording harp players!
Sheila, did you get my message on Facebook? I haven't heard from you.

Thanks Nicola - I have replied to your email now Siobhan doesn't only sing Celtic songs with harp. She also sings Classical with an accompanist on piano. She gave a 40 minute Classical recital a couple of weeks ago for Recitals Australia. Siobhan won the "Junior Vocal Championship" in the Adelaide Eisteddfod today! The age group is 14 to 18 years (Siobhan is 15). The entrants had to sing an Italian Aria, an English Art Song, and a song by an Australian Composer. We are heading off to the Kapunda Celtic Festival at the weekend, where Siobhan is performing. We are hoping to bring along her new CD "Celestial Echoes" which I am hoping to pick up tomorrow after a few delays (fingers crossed)!

Siobhan's new album "Celestial Echoes" now available!Siobhan's new album includes both Classical and Celtic songs. "Celestial Echoes" was recorded in the acoustic setting of a converted Church (Chapel Lane Studios near Adelaide). The recording shows, without pretence, the beauty and honesty in Siobhán’s vocals. The classical pieces on the album have a wonderful piano accompaniment, whilst Siobhán accompanies herself on harp for the Celtic songs with simple, yet melodic arrangements. The idea for this recording was to make it as close as possible to an intimate live performance. Listening to the album is like having Siobhan perform in your living room! See www.siobhanowen.com for details and to order your copy!

I received my CD Friday and I have to say I'm really really impressed. Siobhans voice is really powerful and I was kind of in awe after listening to the CD. My favourites are In a Garden so Green, A Hyd y Nois, Ye Banks and Braes of Bonny Doon, Ave Maria(Schubert) and A Fairy's love song. My only gripes of the huge 16 song playlist would be En Priere which I think needs a couple more years operatic vocal maturity and Der Nussbaum I felt seemed a tad fast although Siobhan still made it sound effortless even the German pronunciation. She Moved through the fair was great too although I'm kind of sick to death of that song now I've got versions by 6 different artists hehe. I would most definitely recommend this album to any Hayley fan . Here's the tracklist: 1 - Dark Iniseoghan 2 - In a Garden so Green 3 - Ar Hyd y Nos 4 - Twilight Fancies 5 - Nocturne 6 - Down by the Sally Gardens 7 - Pie Jesu (Fauré) 8 - Ye Banks and Braes of Bonny Doon 9 - Lisa Lân 10 - En Prière 11 - An Eriskay Love Lilt 12 - Ave Maria (Schubert) 13 - She Moved Through the fair 14 - Der Nussbaum 15 - A Fairy's Love Song 16 - We'll Keep a Welcome

Thanks for the feedback Tasslehoff! Siobhan performed at the Adelaide Festival Theatre last night and was dubbed the new "Loreena McKennitt"! One lady said "I attended the Catholic Schools Music Festival last night and was 'blown away' by your performance. I went to watch my nephew in the Festival Choir, not expecting to me mesmerised by such an amazing performance. I could not move, I was spell bound. It was beautiful!" Siobhan in her dressing room, tuning her harp before her big performance! Siobhan Owen - Celestial Echoes "This recording shows, without pretence, the beauty and honesty in Siobhan's vocals"
