The partially opened one in the photo farther up is so pretty. And I really want to know how it smells. I love smelling roses! I wonder how it'd grow in the Pacific Northwest? Would it be able to tolerate our wet weather, I wonder? Roses around here are especially prone to black spot, rust, and other fungal diseases because of all the moisture. So resistant varieties are always recommended.

Oh, I almost forgot winter just started there! Because roses probably started blooming a month ago here, so that confused me into imagine it was summer there, too. Guess not. LOL Have you experienced any snow where you are? Hayley mentioned it in one of her recent tweets. How much longer is your stay in NZ, or have you decided to remain in Middle Earth forever? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Very nice Joyce. I suppose I could grow roses now. Never could when Sue was around, they gave her hay fever.

I never knew that someone from Germany created the cultivar. I guess I assumed someone from New Zealand did! But, I'm still assuming the idea originated in New Zealand?

Hi, It now appears to me that the person who made the "DIVA of the day!" Facebook posting for Hayley simply had in mind the wrong day for her birthday. The posting was actually made on the 10th, but customarily the announcements are made the day before the event. Too bad that they spoiled Hayley's. BobS
