Very exciting news!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMirusia is taking a break from touring with Andre Rieu and is moving back to Brisbane, Australia (where I live). She's got a solo tour planned, which is fabulously exciting! Let's just say that wild horses couldn't keep me away! I'm so pleased that Mirusia is doing a proper solo tour. (The great concert I saw in Brisbane in 2010 was a one off gig - see above for my reviews and photos). The exposure and touring experiences she gets with Andre Rieu are incredible, but a couple of songs a concert just aren't enough! I'm hoping if the tour goes well, Mirusia might release another solo cd. Cheers, Jillian

Hi all! I have tickets for both Mirusia's Redland and Brisbane shows! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif My sister and I have VIP tickets for the Brisbane show and that includes a meet and greet with Mirusia. Mirusia recently posted on her Facebook that a new album is planned, which is very exciting! I think there's a real gap in the Australian music market for singers like Mirusia and Hayley, as the immense success of Andre Rieu has shown that we do like classical sounding music - It's just that we have to know what's out there! Anyway, here's a link to Mirusia's facebook. www.facebook.com/MirusiaLouwerseAnd a link to her website: www.mirusia.net/Cheers, Jillian

For all Australians, Mirusia will be performing on 'Mornings' on Channel 9 tomorrow morning (Wed 13 June) between 8:30 and 11:00. I've got my dvd recorder set, so hopefully (barring any major disasters lol) I'll be able to put it up on Youtube. Cheers, Jillian

Thanks Sing! Tracks featuring Mirusia are quite readily available as Andre Rieu's material is literally everywhere! Mirusia has done an album called Always and Forever which is a compilation of her best tracks with Andre - which is a very good listen. I'm really looking forward to Mirusia's solo album which should be coming out this year or so. Cheers, Jillian

Hi all! Due to it being a quiet time, as Hayley is taking holidays, I thought I would update you all on the Mirusia Louwerse concerts I attended this past week. Just a little banner I made i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Those of you who are watchers of Andre Rieu would be familiar with the Australian singer. Mirusia is now taking a break from touring with Andre and is back in Australia with her solo tour ‘Home’. I’m a big fan, so I was delighted when I saw she had scheduled two concerts within the Brisbane region. I last saw her perform in 2010 at the 12th Night Theatre, so I knew it was definitely worth it for me to go to both concerts! I first noticed Mirusia when I rather naughtily decided to do a ‘pre-wrap watch’ of my mother’s Christmas present of an Andre Rieu DVD to see what all the media fuss was about. So whilst I attended to my other wrapping, the TV was filled with Andre and the Jonathan Strauss Orchestra for some fun and colourful waltz and schmaltz. Then suddenly, amongst everything, a young blonde singer from Brisbane appeared on stage singing ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again’ and I was instantly hooked. I’m very pleased that Mirusia is striking out on her own, as she has an incredible voice and stage manner and can carry a solo gig from start to finish with great aplomb. The breadth and depth of her capacity to perform is too great to be confined to a couple of songs a show. The first concert of the tour was at the Redland Performing Arts Centre on 5 July 2012 to a sold out audience. The second was at the Brisbane Powerhouse. In my opinion, the best songs of the night were Romanza, Solveig’s Leid, O Mio Babbino Caro, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Forever Shine (an original piece by Mirusia).. During O Mio Babbino Caro, you could have heard a pin drop, as the audience were hanging on to every note! Both concerts ended with standing ovations. A really nice touch was that Mirusia was set up with a hands free microphone, was allowed her a lot more movement and expression on stage. Here is a video of Mirusia singing 'Romanza'www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECG-XvcKoBwI have some more videos and I will post them when I've uploaded them. The support act was Sam Moran, who some of you might know as the former 'Yellow Wiggle' from the Wiggles. He has a great voice and was a world away from children's entertainment when he sang Till I Hear You Sing from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Love Never Dies'. The songs Mirusia performed were: 1.Home 2. Summertime 3. Solveig’s Leid 4. Beautiful that Way 5. Love is a Gift 5. Rainbow Connection (by Sam Moran) 6. She’s Got a Way (by Sam Moran) 7. Ave Maria 8. Romanza 9. Somewhere.... Over the Rainbow 10. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 11. Life is Like a Boat 12. Botany Bay 13. O Mio Babbino Caro 14. God Only Knows (by Sam Moran) 15. Till I Hear You Sing (by Sam Moran) 16. All I Ask of You (with Sam Moran) 17. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again 18. Forever Shine Encores 19. I Still Call Australia Home 20. Look for Me in Rainbows Here are some of my photos: I was also very lucky to meet her afterwards! She is such a lovely person! Cheers, Jillian

Geeeeeeeee Jillian,
They are great photos, You seem to be at a high angle to the stage, Did you climb up on stage to get them or have you acquired a new camera and telephoto lens ? or were you back on a balcony ?
The fixed head microphone, even though Hayley used one when performing with Celtic Woman does not really suit her techniques where she draws the mic away to produce a fade or just moves the mic or her head side to side to produce fades or reductions in sound level.

Hi Comet, Here is my full set of photos: www.flickr.com/photos/iamjillian/sets/72157630485373564/It was just a very steep seating arrangement at the Brisbane Powerhouse and my point and shoot camera (it does have a good zoom on it, though. Photography was allowed (and actually encouraged) so it was easy to get some shots. Here is my video of Mirusia performing Solveig's Song: youtu.be/MJdp6i1FsSw

Hi Jillian!
Wonderful photos from the concert in Brisbane! So glad about the liberal photo policy. Mirusia has a beautiful voice, quite memorable from when I went to one of Andre's concerts.

Fabulous Jillian, I have a special place for Romanza as Hayley sang it as a 15 yr old. She also sang a few bars from it in Keri Keri in 2007 just for me. (I nearly collapsed) Have asked her to record it but so far no show. Mirusia is just simply (******words fail me) Would love to hear her live !!!! Thanks again Graeme
