I've only just noticed all the chat about Saara and X-Factor! But now I have, I shall tune into it next week for the first time in years! I hope she's still in it! Cheers, Dave

The latest video is blocked here in the UK, but I've found these instead: Richard

Saara is indeed becoming a "hot topic" in the UK. She just made it through to Round 3 of X-Factor thanks to the public voting for her. And to think we knew her back when she was just a wee teenager and super fan of Hayley! I wonder if Hayley remembers Saara from their meeting in Helsinki over a decade ago — made possible by the good people here at HWI.

Yes indeed...Saara just got through, as she was in the bottom three, and was in a sing-off with Brattavio to keep a place in the final 11. Here is her week one performance, 'Frozen'... I might as well post Saturday's (15 Oct) performance - Week 2 Motown... Richard, your two videos from week one above are blocked in the USA (thanks ITV)...so glad that a music channel called AXS-TV airs the shows on Sunday with the results show the Monday after (Although this year they aren't showing the X-TRA Factor...sort of a behind-the-scenes show.)

Saara is still very much in the running to win X-Factor UK, having made it through to the next week. The fact that she has two voices in one — her soft, sweetly delicate voice and then a more belting, show-stopper voice — gives her a distinct advantage over the other contestants who are limited to just one basic sound apiece. Simon Cowell has clearly taken a shine to her and that bodes well for future success.

She sang a Bjork song (it was diva-themed round). I do like the randomly-selected themes...this week it's Fright Week!

OMG, Saara Gaga! She just performed Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, in full Gaga/Hallowe'en costume and a lot of movement around the stage including at least one big lift. Not as good as the Gaga original of course but pretty good for a live performance! Nice comments from all the judges but lots of competition tonight, I hope she does well in the voting. Cheers, Dave

Caught most of that performance last night while I was channel hopping, a most entertaining performance.
Well deserved praise indeed after more than ten years of practice and performing under her belt (Puns intended).
I normally change channel as soon as the talking heads start waffeling, pity there is so much junk between the performances.

Hi Richard,
The week four performance of Saara's Fright Night themed song is indeed blocked in the USA...luckily I will catch the replay in a few hours on AXS TV on cable!

It's quite definite that Saara is a very strong contender! We have seen her confidence greatly improve as the competition progressed!
For the benefit of our stateside members, here is Saara's performance from the live show "Divas" week three...
And Saara's wonderful performance from the live show "Fright Night" week four...
This week it's "Boy bands vs. Girl bands week"!

Thanks Joe for those states-friendly videos of Saara'a X-Factor performances. It's nice to see Saara gaining fans in the UK.
For another side to her talent, here's a song I really love that she did several years ago:

Saara had another tough week last week, again placing in the bottom two. She was saved by the Judges' Votes! Gutted that the wonderful group Four of Diamonds are no longer in the competition.
Here is Saara's live show week five (boy band vs. girl band) ... sorry if this video is not viewable outside of the USA ...
This week is DISCO WEEK!!

Saara's most popular video on YouTube is her singing "Let It Go" in 15 languages. It's quite the tour de force!
