Hi everyone,

Here is my Twelfth Night special, it's a blast from the past!

Christmas Presence - 2006 - complete

Well as complete as possible, 40 minutes of it, I hope you like it, though the sound quality is in places imperfect (as on the original recording).

Initially I'm keeping it Unlisted on Youtube so you will need to visit the HWI web page as above to view it. After that, you can if you wish click through from there to the Youtube website and/or copy or share the direct Youtube link, which is fine. I'll open it up fully on Youtube eventually.

Seven of the songs are already available on Youtube but now, it's in the concert setting and seven six more songs (not all by Hayley) are added. I hope you like it and I have to say, I think the choir were very good too! Sadly, the hoped-for DVD didn't happen.

Many thanks Dave for this nostalgic gem with Hayley's performance of "O Holy Night" standing out as the best rendition of this carol ever.

At the age of 19 this was Hayley at her best.

Well 14 sounds better than the (unlucky for some) alternative so perhaps I included the interview in the middle? Or I omitted one choir song I wasn't over-keen on and forgot to re-count?

I may update...

Can I just add a note for anyone in the UK who also recorded this broadcast originally, in full. If the audio on your copy is better quality than this version, please let me know if you would be willing to let me have a copy so I can use it partly or wholly instead.

I made a CD of this I think about 4 years ago, and it is one that I bring out every Christmas, along with Winter Magic and My Gift to You. It was a fabulous concert, and one I love to watch again and again.

The show was originally broadcast in Wales only, but later in Australia (which is where my copy came from). Not sure if the sound is any better than yours Dave. But I have a recording on DVD which you are welcome to a copy of if you think it might be worth having. But I'm not convinced the sound quality is any different though.

I don't think I'll ever forgive ITV for not broadcasting it in England.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to Martin D for uploading for me his audio files of this broadcast (taken from a different source) which allowed me to compare them. I agree with his comment that there doesn't seem to be much difference between the recordings so I will leave it as it is.

The problem seems to have been mainly with my PC speakers, I need to get some new ones, but it sounds good with a pair of decent headphones or speakers, just not quite up to the quality of say our Festival of Remembrance videos and that may be down to the original live recording.

Thanks for your help Martin D, glad I got to the bottom of it.
