So who all plans to go to this? Roger from Horsham As if I'd miss a chance to see Hayley! Anyway, that's two of us so now you only have to guess the other thirty. Have fun! Um, you ever been to England, Cathleen? It can be nice in September. Especially around the 22nd! Roger

But there is a thing called expensive plane tickets and accomodation. I was just talking about visiting England last night. My dad looked up tickets and the cheapest is $660 per person. Looks like I need to save up my pennies. Well, I hope the rest of you have a great time and take bunches of pics!

Hello again folks! St. James's Church is situated on the south side of Piccadilly, about 200 yards from Piccadilly Circus going west towards Hyde Park Corner. Parking is very difficult in the area, so public transport is the best option. Piccadilly Circus Underground Station is served by the Bakerloo and Piccadilly Lines, and there are numerous local bus routes. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm. 33 days to go! See you there, Richard

I have booked my ticket as well - I intend to travel to London by train from The Netherlands that day (via the Channel Tunnel), arriving at Waterloo station sometime in the afternoon. I have booked accommodation at the Regent Palace Hotel, on Glasshouse STreet, which runs in an arc just off Regent Street and Shaftesbury Avenue, virtually on Piccadilly Circus. I believe this hotel is within yards of the venue! Check www.regentpalacehotel.co.uk/ if you are looking for accommodation. It has rooms from as little as 45 pounds a night! Another hotel in the vicinity is St Giles Central London - www.stgiles.com/ It's on Bedford Avenue, close to the junction of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. Not quite as close, but a good alternative, though not quite as cheap as the Regent Palace. Looking forward to meeting you all there soon! Gerrit

Hi Gerrit, Great to see your going too. I look forward to meeting you there . Thanks for the info regaridn the hotels, I still have'nt booked anything yet. The Regent Palace looks a good option and anything thats close to the venue always helps. Interesting to see you are going by train. Does that take long?? Probably to Brussels then to Waterloo. Sounds like a great journey. Cheers, Emmett

Hi Emmett,
I have worked it out - the journey from my front door to the hotel in London takes about 2 hours longer than if I go by plane - but is cheaper. Going by plane, I have to travel to Amsterdam International Airport (Schiphol), check in, check out at Heathrow and then still have a fair journey to Central London. Going by train means I am finishing up in Central London - within walking distance of where I want to be! The train journey takes me via Brussels and northern France, and I get to see a bit of Europe as well this way (I'v never even been in Belgium or France!)
Cheers,
Gerrit

Hi Gerrit, Sounds like you have a nice adventure ahead, especially with the countries you have not visited before. You have it worked out well, the less number of changes you have the easier things work out. With Heathrow, I try to avoid there too, I generally use Gatwick now which I find easier to navigate and also travel to central London. See you then, Emmett
