Hello Gerrit and Emmett! The Regent Palace Hotel in Glasshouse Street is only about 5 minutes walk from St. James's Church. The St. Giles Hotel in Bedford Avenue is about 15 minutes walk, or 5 minutes on bus routes 14, 19 or 38, which you can catch at the stop in New Oxford Street by Centre Point, just outside Tottenham Court Road Underground Station. 32 days to go! See you there, Richard

Thanks, Richard, Just one question . If St. Giles is just a 15 minute walk, I could hardly think of anyone taking the bus to cut out 10 minutes. I mean, even if you were planning too, you're bound to waste at least 5 minutes waiting for the bus to arrive ... I would go for the walk anytime, once I knew walking would only take 15 minutes. Frankly even if walking would take an hour, I still wouldn't consider catching the bus (and even less a taxi cab). You know, the last time I was in London was in March last year, for the Hayley concert at the Palladium. I arrived at Victoria Station at that time, and had a hotel in Gloucester Place (a road running off Oxford Street). I walked from all the way from Victoria Station to my hotel at that time ( which was more than an hour). But frankly, from what I have heard about British taxi cab services, the less I get involved with them, the better. That's one reason I have opted for the train service to Waterloo Station. I get there on the basis of a fixed price, no matter from which railway staion in The Netherlands I travel. And then, having arrived at Waterloo Station, I can walk to my destination, without running the trouble of having to pay exhorbitant taxi fees ... Cheers Gerrit

Hi Gerrit, Well I, too, will be arriving at Waterloo Station and if it isn't raining, I shall walk to Hayley's concert at St James's Church. It's 1.2 miles via Hungerford footbridge and Trafalgar Square... where I may feed the pigeons or take a paddle in the fountain i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifA 20 to 30 minute stroll will be a pleasant way to start the evening 'festivities' Cheers, Dave

See you there, Richard Thanks for that Richard, or should we call you the UK Tourist Board, we would never be stuck without you . Gerrit, regarding those taxi's you are right to avoid them especially in London unless you are Bill Gates. The minute they know you are from out of town is rip-off time on the meter. When I returned from Hampton Court in June, I got a taxi from Waterloo to Earls Court and it cost nearly TWENTY POUNDS and its only a few miles apart. The problem was that I was on such a high after Hayley's concert that I did'nt mind, it was the next day that I though hold on that cant be right . Emmett

Hello everybody! I agree with Gerritt, it's probably easier to walk from Tottenham Court Road to Piccadilly, especially if there's a traffic jam in Shaftesbury Avenue. Incidentally, St. Giles Hotel is right opposite the Internet Café where I am now. No, I won't be spending the night there! See you at St. James's Church. 31 days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Just in case you want to have confirmation of my dedication to walking - it's now almost a year ago Hayley's debut performance on German TV was recorded in Munich. I travelled by train to Munich (further away than London from where I live .....) The Munich TV recording studios were some 6 miles (10 km) from the Munich railway station. I walked that distance! The recording was finished at about midnight - and I walked back to the station in the middle of the night. I caught a train that was leaving Munich at about 4 a.m. in the morning. I saved myself hotel accommodation as well as taxi fares at that time. When I told my employer the story - he suggested that next time I would book a cab and charge it to the company. He thought the risk of me being mugged in a foreign city wasn't worth it and he preferred my safe return ... Cheers, Gerrit

Hello Lothar! If you booked your ticket in accordance with Keith's email you will be able to collect your ticket at St. James's Church on the night. The actual box office for this concert is located in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank, by Waterloo Bridge, and is open daily from 11:00 hours. If you are in any doubt, I suggest you ring the box office on the number Keith quoted:- +44 (0)8703 800 400 27 days to go! See you there, Richard

Hi Richard and Lothar, I too have to pick my tickets up on the day of the concert from St. James's. But I was told on the phone if you are in London before that day, you will have to pick them up from the South Bank address Richard gave. Cheers, Emmett

Hi Richard, hi Emmett, I was discussing this with the man from the call center and I told him that I will arrive at the day of the event. But my question was because I'm not sure if the office where I can get the ticket is the same as i. e. the main gate of the church or if it is situated near by the chuch or something like that ... You know I'm a little bit mad and so it is better to ask twice Many thanks for your support and greetings, Lothar

Hello again Lothar! There is only one public entrance to St. James's Church, which is on the south side of Piccadilly about 200 yards west of Piccadilly Circus. You will probably collect your ticket from a desk or table near the entrance. 26 days to go! See you there, Richard
