I agree about Hayley's songs. I've always said that too, that her songs are always among my favorites on her albums. I still don't mind a cover or 2, just as long as it's nothing too overdone, or anything. I'm pretty sure I do have pop-up blocks. That's why I admittedly can't listen to that Sky radio. Well, there's probably a way, but I haven't tried. I can listen to Hayley's songs anytime I want, without other stuff in between. So, I'm really not that worried about it. Okay, now I am going off-topic. Sorry. But so you see, I do have a pop-up block, I just don't know why it won't block everything. I think the ads have a way of getting around them sometimes. I don't even see them pop up at all, I just notice it when I see how many windows I have up. They're sneaky pop-ups. This happens other places besides mediafire, though.

Maybe it's all a clue, working with different people, so maybe there's gonna be a recorded version of Canto Della Terra?! (I LOVE THAT SONG so much!!!) And maybe voice to one of Ludovico's pieces! This album opens the door to so many possibilities! If she could record that with Andrea Bocelli - WOW! I think now her voice has matured, she could do a much better job duetting with Andrea than "Del Amore" on Odyssey. Her live performance of CDT in Taiwan with him was magnificent! Martin D

Dunno Richard, but the Songbirds probably know it if Hayley is to be believed! Martin D

Marty played a request for a gentleman called Jimmy who was at the Hayley Westenra concert in the National Concert Hall last Thursday.
Profumo di limone from Paradiso.
He said "Always a pleasure to play Hayley"

Carl Corcoran is filling in for Marty Whelan who is away on holidays. He played Hayley Westenra singing Caccini's Ave Maria this morning followed by a brief discussion on whether Caccini or someone else actually composed that version.

Could I be right in saying that this radio station is probably the one around the world that plays Hayley's songs most regularly? How widely is this station heard? All across Ireland? Ireland and Northern Ireland both? UK, at all?
That new Sky FM CC station probably plays more of Hayley's songs, but how well-known is it?

Hi Libby, Lyric FM goes out all over Ireland and Northern Ireland and also on the Internet. Mainly Classical music and a news headlines at half past the hour. Listener statistics are available on their site somewhere RTE Lyric FMYou will hear it playing in shops, hospitals, restaurants, passing cars etc. It is rather amusing to see someone else at the traffic lights in another car singing along to the same station you are listening to. I keep in touch with several presenters every day or two, not just about Hayley, also about Laura Wright, Katherine Jenkins, Tori Amos, Nick Drake, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Edith Piaf, Ennio Morricone or whatever tickles our fancy. The lads on the late night show are happy enough to answer e mails and reply up to five times a night. Marty or Liz never reply but often play a request within minutes of me sending it in. A few of the other HWI members send in requests too, so keep it up folks.

Well, it's nice that her music is played on the radio in Ireland, even if the promotion of her album there was not satisfactory. And wasn't her recent concert there sold out? She must still be somewhat popular, even if Decca didn't give much effort for her there.

Marty is back on air since Monday, It's good to have him back with his quick wit and tongue in cheek and comments. He played Malena this morning at about 8:10 and mentioned that his recent interviews with Hayley are still available on the RTE Lyric Fm website. Such a lovely way to be woken up :zz:

I Feel Pretty by Hayley last song on Marty's show just before ten O'clock this morning. I e-mailed him a couple of days ago about Twiggy's most recent album Romantically Yours. I also asked him about Laura's new album and he played Benedictus from it. I also mentioned Hayley of course..
