Thanks Taylor. Don't know why it didn't work when I did it.

Thank you Martin for the videos!
Thank you also to everyone else for the concert reports and pictures! Gave me the little extra something I needed to get super excited for this weekend. Not that I needed help anyways. Lol
Martin, I think both videos are fine. The strength of one is the weakness of the other. But both are watchable and enjoyable. The only complaint I have is I miss the "LA de da da" part of the song.
Anyways, got to get ready. Take care! Alicia

Hi Martin, From the position you were at during the capture of this video, Hayley's little dance-like leg movement seems to be emphasized, catching the eye through most of the song, full screen. Neat! BobS

Many thanks to all who have shared new and further reports, videos, and photos from last week's twin concerts in Cork...Joyce, Grant, Martin D, Michael C, Thomas, and John H. Michael, I am so happy you attended last Sunday's concert. You are indeed a full and most appreciated member of HWI...as well as a long-time supporter of Hayley! The tartan ties came about, oh, around 8 years ago, when a member from Scotland had designed a tie in a tartan pattern of blue, red, and white (the colors of the New Zealand, UK, and USA flags). You can read about on the forum here ... hwi.proboards.com/thread/2287/westenra-christchurch-nz-tartan-ties#page=1 but sadly, the Scottish member has removed his Photobucket account hence the photos in the posts are gone. Martin D, your videos are wonderful and quite watchable. Thank you for capturing Hayley on her superb form! Indeed all of the concertgoers' contributions are wonderful. They were something to look forward to during, my long workday...a mandatory overtime was set and meant a nine-hour workday for me. And leaving the house at 6:15 AM and back at 5:00 PM It is our busiest week of the year at my mail-order job, as it is a mad rush to get every order out as well as clean-up the end-of--the-year books.

Hello Martin D! Thanks for the new videos. The second one didn't appear because you tried to embed the edit link instead of the video, but I've corrected your earlier post so both videos are now together there. Richard

Thanks to everyone for the excellent reviews, photographs and videos from the two concerts. They are very much appreciated.
I couldn't make it this time. It's a shame, because it would have been a great opportunity to finally make a visit to the Rebel city. Maybe next time though.

Hi all! I haven’t written a review for a long time so I think I might give it a try again. I was happy when the show in Cork was announced because I haven’t gone to a Hayley concert for more than two years. After I had put my reservations against the security of the Ticketmaster website on side I booked tickets for both shows. If I travel all the way to Ireland the journey should be worth it. On Friday evening my bag was packed and at 7 p.m. I was ready to go to bed because I had to get up early on Saturday. It was that moment when I received an e-mail from British Airways that my flight to Heathrow was cancelled! AAAAAHHHHH!!!! In that e-mail a new flight to London City Airport was suggested which would depart even 20 minutes earlier. I just had to confirm the flight or cancel everything…so I confirmed it although I had no idea how to get from London City Airport to Heathrow within 1,5 hours to get my Aer Lingus connection to Cork. SaturdayAfter a short and unpleasant night I left to Düsseldorf airport. While waiting in the check-in queue I had the opportunity to talk to some British Airways staff. The guy in front of me turned around and told me that he had the same problem of getting from City Airport to Heathrow and that he had already booked a mini-cab. I could join him if I liked… And I liked to join him of course! The guy behind me in the queue also looked for an opportunity to get to Heathrow and so we all ended up in one mini-cab rushing through London on Saturday morning. Fortunately the streets were empty at that early time of day so that we arrived at Heathrow within one hour. I went through security and arrived at the departure gate 20 minutes before the doors opened. Now the relaxed part of the journey was about to begin. I arrived at the Jurys Inn around midday and fortunately my room was ready when I checked in so I could drop my bag and had some time to explore Cork. Music is almost everywhere in Cork. There have been a lot of people singing or playing music in the streets. In the afternoon I came back to the hotel and met Comet in the foyer. A short moment later we were joined by Juliette, Grant, Martin and Gordon. I was happy to see everyone again after such a long time. After dinner I got changed and we made our way to the City Hall which was only a 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. The Cork City Hall has entrances on two sides of the building and we arrived at the wrong one first but changed to the correct entrance before other guests arrived and so we started the queue standing in front. While we were waiting John H and Tristan arrived. Later inside we met also Eugene and Paddy which made our HWI round complete. Gordon and I opted for box office collection for our tickets so that these had to be picked up while other guests with tickets could already go right through to their seats. When the doors opened we rushed to the box office table, grabbed our ticket and made it in time for a nice front row seat next to Comet. The concert began with two instrumental pieces by CYO which have already been described. I was very impressed how excellent the orchestra was! That was a very high level for musicians at that young age! It was hard to believe these musicians are only between 13 and 18 years old. After that Hayley appeared on stage to begin her part with „May It Be“ from Lord Of The Rings, one of my personal favorites. There’s always a lot to prepare before going to one of Hayley’s concerts. Flights and hotels have to be booked sometimes train journeys as well, getting up in the middle of the night to go to the airport, handle unforeseen trouble like cancelled flights, missed trains due to flight delays, trouble getting through London due to closed Underground lines, etc. More than once you wonder „Why am I doing all of this? Is it really worth all the trouble?“ When Hayley steps out onto stage singing the first tone you know „Yes, it is worth it all!!“ I especially enjoy pieces that I don’t hear Hayley sing very often. In the first half it was „Dream A Little Dream Of Me“ and „Who Painted The Moon Black?“. The complete setlist has already been posted by John H on page 9 in this thread. During the interval a lady came to us and asked questions concerning our group and where we all came from like Grant has already reported. Gordon and I presented our tartan ties and the lady seemed very impressed. As the compère came back on stage after the interval HWI was mentioned and also the special tartan tie. It’s quite a weird feeling when suddenly the complete orchestra gazes at you. But it only lasted for a few seconds and after that it was time for the „Snowman“. From the front row the screen was hard to see but that didn’t matter. The music of the CYO had my complete attention. Then something happened that I haven’t expected. One of the orchestra members sang „Walking In The Air“ during the „Snowman“. A very clear and professional voice and one of my personal highlights of the evening. After the „Snowman“ Hayley came back on stage for 6 more songs including my favorites „I Dreamed A Dream“ and „Wuthering Heights“. After two encores there were well deserved standing ovations for Hayley and the CYO and a fantastic evening came to an end. After the concert we waited for Hayley for a moment but it turned out very soon that she won’t have time this evening due to some other official commitments. We accompanied Juliette to her hostel and the pub besides that hostel looked welcoming to close the day with some pints and live music. After that we headed back to our accommodation and an eventful 24-hours-day came to an end. Thomas

SundayOn Sunday we had breakfast together and were accompanied by Juliette who came over to the Jurys Inn. It was another sunny day and so we made a walk through Cork up the hill to North Cathedral and back downtown. Unfortunately Juliette left us around midday because she had to work on Monday and had to catch her flight. Back in the hotel in the early afternoon we soon met Martin who came over for the Sunday show and later also Joyce with her friend. Like Saturday we had an early dinner, got changed and made our way to the Cork City Hall again. This time we started the queue at the correct door right from the beginning. Tristan, John H and Paddy joined our group and we were ready for the next show. As the doors opened the rush started again. The collection of the ticket took a minute or two longer than yesterday and when I walked into the hall there was already a small queue in the middle isle. So I turned around, ran down the isle on the left overtaking the queue in the middle isle and grabbed a seat in the front row again which turned out to be the same seat I had the night before. I sat between Gordon and another guy who turned out to be our new HWI member Michealc. The lady from last night’s interval came to us asking about how many people we are in our group because Hayley would like to meet us after the show. That was really good news! Before the show started I talked to Joyce and to Michaelc. Joyce speaks fluently German and it turned out that Michaelc speaks some German as well. He told me that he is a fan of Hayley and that he was there also on Saturday. So I invited him to join us when we meet Hayley after the show. A new member should have the opportunity to meet her if possible because this is always a special very moment. The concert was the same like the night before starting with „May It Be“ from Lord Of The Rings followed by „Dream A Little Dream Of Me“ from her album Hushabye and four more songs in the first half. After the Interval and the „Snowman“ it became christmassy again with „Peace Shall Come“ and „Silent Night“. After 6 songs in the second half she ended the concert like on Saturday with „Bridge Over Troubled Water“. Hayley and the CYO received well deserved standing ovations and we received two more encores. After the show we assembled downstairs until we were asked to go up to meet Hayley. We had to wait a few minutes and the first one who appeared was Timothy Evans followed by Hayley after a short moment. Hayley had some official commitments again and so the time with Hayley was over all too soon but everyone of us had the chance to say hello and forward some Christmas greetings. I was very happy that Hayley took some time to meet us although she actually didn’t have any for a meet and greet. She’s a special person and wants everyone to feel comfortable…but you know… Sunday night ended similar to Saturday with some pints at the hotel bar followed by another short night. Breakfast was early on Monday morning because I had to head to the airport short afterwards. I shared a taxi with Martin who had the same flight to London-Heathrow like me. This time everything worked fine. In London a had a few hours time for some planespotting before I left to Düsseldorf and I was back home in the evening. Thomas

Hi Thomas, Thank you very much for your two very fine reports. I can well imagine what a scare your cancelled flight must have been for you, but am glad to see that the trip worked out so well after all. I vaguely recalled a trip to NZ that you made with your twin sister to tour, so went back to take a quick look at that. Seven years ago! A lot of nice pictures to see again. Kindest regards, BobS

Hi everyone, Great reports photos and videos from last weekend's concerts, many thanks to one and all! Oh, I have a video to share... it's from our mysterious and illustrious Tourist, with some minor tweaking in the HWI studios! Hayley's Message to all in NZ, I suspect... excellent when viewed in full screen and HD! Cheers, Dave

Excellent job. Actually, seeing where this was taken from and who I know was sitting there, I have a very small list of people who could be the mysterious "Tourist" if it was filmed on the Saturday. But I guess this was the Sunday performance, and I'm not sure who was sitting there for that one - there are subtle differences between this video and mine which was from the Saturday. His sound too, is a lot better than mine, video much the same. Good to see, thanks for that.

Many thanks to our intrepid 'Tourist' for the new video, and to Dave for the editing. I've shared it on our Facebook page: I was only playing with the new embedding facility. Richard
