Ehum ! Ireland is no longer part of the UK  Well the South isn't. some might say it is a Banana Republic and they might be right. We do seem to have a right bunch of chimps running the country, It wasn't that we were paying them peanuts, but we got monkeys anyway. Our Prime Minister was being paid more than The President of the United States and we have a population of less than four million, Politicians obviously watch to much TV and began to believe the phrase "Because I'm worth it" I think they should all be executed first, and tried for treason just to be on the safe side after the executions, BTW. Ireland is the largest exporter of ripe bananas in the world. They don't even grow here. No wonder we have monkeys running the country. The on topic bit : Come on Ireland..

Hi Comet
Er.. to correct that a bit, one of the four provinces of Ireland IS still part of the UK. And the Irish rugby team is drawn from all four provinces. And yes, I know it's a mess - that's what all the fighting and death and destruction has been about for not far short of a century.
But the UK is no different - our local government in London are chimps too, whichever party or parties are in so-called power - and our real government is the same as yours, in Brussels and unelected. Yet there are people prepared to kill because of the local and increasingly powerless government jurisdictions... Don't ask about European politics the rest of you...
Ireland, and the UK deserve better.

Comet, My apologies. Ironically, I hadn't included Ireland when I originally wrote that post. But when I came back and read it again, I realized I hadn't mentioned their match (which is a big one not to mention) and felt that I should include it. Perhaps I should have amended it to say Five Nations rather than UK. Blame the fact that I'm an American who hasn't been schooled sufficiently in European geopolitics if you must. Also, the tiny town of Monteith, which is most certainly named after some long lost ancestor of mine who settled there from Scotland, happens to be in the part of Ireland which is still considered the UK. By the way, I too will be pulling hard for the Irish to beat those Wallabies!!! Matt

Almost half of the Province of Ulster lies in the Republic of Ireland. Ulster is made up of the six counties in the North, plus the counties of Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan, which are in the South. Incorrectly on occasions, Northern Ireland is referred to as Ulster, which is where the confusion lies.

Hey Libby, The USA vs. Russia match was on Universal Sports, which is an affiliate of NBC. I'm fortunate that my cable provider recently added it to their channel lineup. I don't know how widely available it is on other service providers lineups, or on satellite services, but it would definitely be worth checking out since most of the RWC matches broadcast here in the States will be on it. NBC will be broadcasting the Final, so at least all of America will have the opportunity to see Hayley sing there. Matt Oh, my goodness, I can watch Hayley sing the anthem on TV!!!! I am sooo excited!! Oh, and I hope she gets to sing God Defend New Zealand, too. I have the melody of that song pretty much memorized by now, even if I don't know all the lyrics. GO ALL BLACKS!! So as you can see, I do have Universal Sports! I watch figure skating on that channel. Incidentally, I think the RWC Final is the same day as the first major skating competition of the season, so I'm going to have a lot of TV to watch... or record... that day! I am extremely excited!!

Hey Libby, Yes the final will be broadcast on both NBC and Universal Sports, on October 23rd. The actual starting time of the Final will be 1:00 AM Pacific Time. NBC will broadcast it tape delayed at noon the same day, and Universal Sports will be showing a replay at 5:00 PM that evening. As a huge rugby fan, and a huge Hayley fan, I don't know what I'm looking forward to more, the match or her anthem. I am definitely hoping she gets to sing 'God Defend New Zealand'. What a perfect moment that would be for her! I'm glad you are excited too!! Matt

Just seen Ireland 15 Australia 6. WOW ! I thought this would be a good match and so it proved. Well done to the Irish for beating Australia for the first time in 5 years. Good to see the crowd get behind the men in green. Aside from the ABs, Kiwis will always support anyone who plays Australia and beats them ! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I have a dream The Final : Ireland V New Zealand Can't really expect Hayley's Irish blood to "Out Tingle" her New Zealand blood if that happens.

Hey Comet, Your dream is within the realm of possibility. What a victory for Ireland!! To hold the Wallabies to just two penalties and no tries, that is something!! My grandmothers pappy would be smiling for sure. Makes me feel even better now about the fact that the USA boys only lost by 12 to Ireland. Haha. Anyone interested in hearing what Hayley's voice sounds like as it's piped over the stadium speakers during the post-match interviews should click the following link. It's at the 3:10 mark, for those who would rather not watch the whole thing. www.rugbyworldcup.com/video/index.html?v=2051834Matt

In the quarters Ireland will meet either Wales or Samoa (Will know later today) then in the semis will meet either England or France. NZ will probably play Argentina in the quarters (that is if NZ beat France earlier on). And NZ will probably meet South Africa in the semis. So if the results go right then Ireland could meet NZ in the final i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif.

NBC is a network that anyone with a working TV can get, whereas Universal isn't. Now, if there were just more rugby fans over here! I actually saw some RWC scores in the sports section the other day, too. I've been looking, too, and it's the first time I saw anything about it. BTW, I couldn't get your video to work. It wants me to install something, and I'd rather not. My computer isn't up to that right now. It's been having problems, and it's only recently recovered. Mostly.

Wales beat Samoa 17-10, it was a close game but very enjoyable. So it looks like Wales should finish 2nd in this pool but you never know Samoa might upset South Africa later on.

Hi Libby,
Sorry to hear the video wouldn't play. I had watched it on my iPhone, so I didn't realize that watching it on a PC would require certain software. It looks like Microsoft Silverlight is what the RWC website is wanting you to install, and I don't blame you for not wanting to. I never did either, but recently had to buy a new PC which came with it pre-installed. I'll take a look at YouTube and see if I can find it there.

England 41- Georgia 10 in today/yesterday's match Personally I'm hoping for an All Black vs England or Ireland final (Ireland would make my grandmother very happy indeed haha) ...but with the recent referees, in my opinion-not that I really understand the game very much- just what my dad's been telling me recently- he went into some detail but I'm still confused with all the rules haha- , I'm not sure that will happen on the England front :/ best wishes Sing
