As is HWI custom, let's vote for our favourite song on 'Paradiso'.
You can select your top three in this poll!
I've included the extra song to be with the Japanese version of 'Paradiso'.
Best wishes and happy listening! Joe

Great to have the poll so early... I will of course wait with my votes till the CD gets to me.

Well, I ticked three boxes and I see I am not alone in any of my choices. But really it was a rather arbitrary selection. There is so much on this album that I love.

It was really hard to choose only three tracks, there are soooo many that I love! I'm not alone in my choices, except for La Califfa...for now!

I would have put La Califfa 4th Elsa!
But there is so much that is truly brilliant and truly beautiful on this album.

Out of curiosity, Dave, which 2 are not among your [absolute] favorites?

Hi Joe Well that was difficult! There are so many wonderful tracks on this album vying for favourite position The first two were easy "Whispers In A Dream" and "Once Upon A Time In The West" are out and out favourites and have been from pretty much the beginning. Choosing a third out of my other 'favourites' has taken a dozen plays but, in the end, I chose "Amalia Por Amor" Best wishes Grant

I didn't say what I had chosen did I?
Well "Whispers in a Dream" was a cert.
Also Malena - this is just gorgeous.
And for its originality and novelty value Lezione di Musica.
But it was a hard choice. Every single track is special in some way. And most are very original and unlike anything Hayley has done before. I almost put in La Califfa, which is fabulous.
Strange that three of the four tracks I mentioned have lyrics by Hayley. Even if we haven't fully deciphered them yet!

Out of curiosity, Dave, which 2 are not among your [absolute] favorites? Hi Libby, I don't want to say at the moment because there are 3 or 4 possibilities and I keep changing my mind, it's very close! As for my favourites, all I can say at the moment is that Amalia Por Amor will be one of the three. It's a real surprise package for me, I just did not expect that and it (vocals and accompaniment) blows me away! But In general, I lean towards the more dreamy tracks (all of them!) but there are a couple of sparkling upbeat tracks in there too. Boy is this tough - there's no "filler" on this album! Cheers, Dave

I agree Dave, "Amalia" is fantastic. If you had told me Hayley would sing something like that I wouldn't have believed you. But she nails it! Such fantastic vocal technique.
I don't think there is another singer in the world who could have made that album, with such consistenly brilliant performances across so many different styles of singing. It will certainly give the rest of the classical crossover world something to think about.
Ennio has given Hayley the spark that she needed to bring the best out of her it seems. This truly is a match made in heaven.
