I agree Dave, "Amalia" is fantastic. If you had told me Hayley would sing something like that I wouldn't have believed you. But she nails it! Such fantastic vocal technique. I don't think there is another singer in the world who could have made that album, with such consistenly brilliant performances across so many different styles of singing. It will certainly give the rest of the classical crossover world something to think about. Ennio has given Hayley the spark that she needed to bring the best out of her it seems. This truly is a match made in heaven. Martin D Absolutely ! Steve Macdonald remarked that "Winter Magic" didn't play to Hayley's strengths (and I agree with him) but "Paradiso" most certainly does !

First listern to the album went through as a miraculous dream... Don't have favourites and I am not sure if I ever will... All I can say is that if I vote, Lezione di musica will almost certainly be voted, but it will be so hard to vote here... Much harder than in any other of her albums...

It was really hard to narrow it down to three, but I had to go with La Califfa (best version I have ever heard) Once Upon a Time in the West (I don't think anyone can do a Vocalese like Hayley and shows her lower range) and finally Amalia Por Amor (its so different and the orchestration is amazing) I could go on about this album for ages, it should top every chart!

Michal That's exactly how I felt after the first listen Michal. But when you have heard it a few times some favourites start to materialise. Right now I'd go for Malena as my favourite track. It is just so beautiful, and Hayley seems to have so much contentment. I think this one is very personal to her. Technically I'd go for Amalia, for virtuosity Lezione Di Musica, just a fantastic exhibition of her ability. The best singer on the planet. I have no doubt about that at all - maybe even the best of all time. Martin D

It's hard to choose 3, but my top 2 are definitely Whispers in a Dream and Amalia Por Amor. Whispers is so heavenly and beautiful. I love the lyrics, Hayley's voice, the music... Amalia is AMAZING!! At first I thought the low piano music at the beginning was strange, but by the time it got to the end, I thought it was very effective. Also, at first, even though I was very amazed by the song and Hayley's stunning vocals, I did find the structure of the song a bit hard to wrap my mind around. But now I think I remember how most of it goes, and I LOVE it! At 4:55-56.... WOW!! I hope she sings this at her concerts. It might be a hard song to sing, but this is one she'd really wow the crowd with. My third spot went to La Califfa. It's so delicately, exquisitely beautiful, and the lyrics are wonderful. However, it was a toss-up between that and Once Upon a Time in the West (enra!). It's a beautiful, soft melody, and of course Hayley's voice made it just heavenly. I didn't mind or care that there were no lyrics.

Hi all
This was difficult, but I ended up voting the same as Libby with Whispers in a Dream, Amalia Por Amor and La Califfa.
Once Upon a Time in the West is probably my fourth favourite, with Malena and Here's to You close behind.
Curiously, Whispers in a Dream somehow reminds me of Listen to the Wind, my hitherto all time favourite Hayley song.
Kind Regards
Colin

Once Upon a Time in the West is probably a tie with La Califfa, actually. It seems terrible to say it's in 4th place, because it is so wonderful. It's because they're all wonderful songs. Hey, let's just say that all 4 are tied for 1st. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifYes, I like Malena a lot, too, and also I Knew I Loved You. Oh, and the Edge of Love is really nice, too... Oh, and Per Natale is such a delightful song. Oh, and the first Cinema Paradiso is such a pretty version of the song; I like it better than Josh Groban's! Her voice is prettier than his! :rollin

Hi everyone, OK, after three weeks of agonising I decided to make a decision and i have voted as follows: 1. Amália Por Amor. 2. Malena. 3= At least 7 other songs so I just picked on impulse The Edge of Love. Amália as performed by Hayley and Ennio's Orchestra is, quite simply, a masterpiece. Hayley should feel very proud of her achievement as this must have been a difficult song for her to perform. It is not, I think, what most people would associate with Ennio Morricone and it seems to be quite unlike anything Hayley has done before. I would never ever have guessed before this album came out that I would choose a song like Amália Por Amor as my favourite! Bravo! Hayley and Ennio! Cheers, Dave

Yes, as beautiful and lovely as the other songs are, it really is not only the most amazing song on the album, but the most amazing song she's done ever!

As it's one of my top movies (and genres), "Once Upon a Time in the West" is one of my favorite songs.
It's also interesting to listen to this version back to back with the original theme by Dell'Orso (Link removed - copyright infringement)
Same sweeping, nostalgic melody but very different as well.
