Hi Joe, It still works OK for me, even when using a US proxy so it isn't blocked. Perhaps there's a glitch in the link I gave so here it is again: www.youtube.com/watch?&v=msQjjAnGjQQ#Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave. I think my iPad has issues with this video, so I'll have a try on my PC after dinner Edit....success! The audio is wonderful, Dave. Thanks again. And of course thanks to Hayley...fantastic performance.

Hayley's performance was on again tonight!! Due to the tropical storm, they had to stop the concert early, so they played last year's concert! In progress, though, but they showed B.B. King, Hayley's part, and all the rest. However, I was very disappointed that Russell Watson didn't get to perform on this year's show. He was supposed to. I wonder what he was going to sing! Oh well, I was very glad to see Hayley on TV again!

The producers switched to air the last 45 minutes of 2011' s concert. The 9:30 re-air saw the 2012 event plus 45 minutes of the 2012 dress rehearsal footage. BTW Tropical Storm Beryl is off the Florida coast. I watched the live show up until Daughtry performed. I hope Hayley was replayed for east coasters.

I'm a little confused by your post. Aren't you on the eastcoast?? And if you watched that coverage, how do you not know whether east coasters got to see Hayley or not? The show was cut off after Natalie Cole sang, but the audience was told to start leaving sometime after Trace Adkins sang... I think... or it might've been after the first narration. Anyway, aren't the thunderstorms brought on by the tropical storm. I've always heard the east coast often gets stormy weather when these tropical storms come.

As I said I watched the live show until Daughtry performed. Then i switched it off to watch the Weather Channel, who said sometime later that the concert was cancelled. They should've said shortened. all I know is that a part of 2011 was aired to fill the remainder of the live show. You see the tape delay broadcast anyway. If you say she was on the west coast feed, fine. I had no clue if she was on in the east. And no, the thunderstorms in DC's vicinity were in no way related to the tropical storm, which is hundreds of miles away.

Okay, whatever you say, but I often notice that the east coast gets stormy weather when there are tropical storms, not that I'm an expert or anything, obviously. The same thing was shown in both broadcasts over here.

Hi everyone, It's very disappointing that this year's Memorial Day Concert was interrupted due to the prevailing weather conditions, but lightning can be very dangerous at outdoor events - and not only to the electronics! The odd thing is that when I was re-doing Hayley's performance of Pie Jesu from last year I thought that I could see several distant lightning flashes on the video, in among the frequent much fainter camera flashes. Perhaps Hayley was lucky then to get her chance and who knows, perhaps if that was the case, she found it disconcerting while she sang? Anyway, I have, for a while, put the following image and link to Pie Jesu on the front page of HWI. Dave

Yes, it definitely is lucky that Hayley sang last year instead of this, otherwise her part of the show would have been cancelled. I find it disappointing enough that Russell Watson didn't get to perform. But come on, aren't we all kind of glad that Hayley got to be on US TV again? Even twice in one evening, at least on the west coast?

He sang Abide With Me and Bridge Over Troubled Water. They used the footage from the Dress Rehearsal for the later showing.

Why didn't we get to see it? I'm glad Hayley got to be on TV again, but I know for a fact that they showed the same thing the 2nd time. I did listen to his BOTW on youtube the other day. I liked it very much. And after I heard it, I thought that might've been a song he would sing for the Memorial day show, and I was even more disappointed that I didn't see him. Oh well.
I must say I was very surprised to learn that he was the singer of the theme song to Star Trek Enterprise. My mom used to watch that show, and although I found it boring, I liked the song. But the sound of his voice there sounds nothing like he did when he sang The Prayer with Hayley! I still can't quite believe it. That's why I watched a few of his videos the other day, to get a better idea of his voice.

. Therefore, I have extracted and uploaded this very moving segment of the concert - culminating in Hayley's performance followed by the lone bugler. For anyone who is interested, it can now be found on the National Memorial Day page on the HWI website. I may be an old sentimentalist but I cannot recommend watching this video highly enough. The people involved are: Michelle Baugh, daughter of Richard Githens who died in Vietnam when she was a baby, and his fellow soldier and friend Chuck Gregoire. Their moving story is told by Gary Sinese and actress AJ Cook and as you will have seen, Michelle has already tweeted her thanks to Hayley for her part in this tribute. National Memorial Day Concert 2011 (Vietnam segment) 19 minute videoIf your connection is less than 1 mbps, you may have to pause the video sometimes to let it catch up. Cheers, Dave Hi - Hayley being in Viet Nam has brought to mind her Memorial Day performance in Washington, DC, in 2011. You can see it at the link above. Who would have thought that just two-and-a-half years later that she would be performing at the very area where Richard Githens died. Hoi An, where she performed, (haven't seen anything on it yet to confirm), is in Quang Nam Province, the province given for his death in the site below. www.vvmf.org/Wall-of-Faces/18708/RICHARD-E-GITHENSBobS
