Good news my fellow Americans! Hayley will be appearing at the Memorial Day concert  Concert Date and Time: Sunday, May 29, 2011, 8 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Location: West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, First St. NW, Washington, DC. The FREE concert, hosted by actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, will feature a mix of dramatic readings, documentary footage and live musical performances, along with an all-star line-up of dignitaries, actors and musical artists. Scheduled to perform are: Jack Everly (National Symphony Orchestra conductor), American Idol winner Kris Allen, blues legend B.B. King, policeman-tenor Daniel Rodriguez, and Classical superstar Hayley Westenra. |

I really hope I can swing my vacation plans so I can attend. Unfortunately I doubt it. I'm just glad that PBS will air it. This may be my one and only shot.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never been so excited for Memorial Day before!  I wonder what she'll sing... Hey, do you think she'll sing "For the Fallen"? I really, really like that song. As nice as We'll Meet Again was, this is the one that really touches me when I listen to it. I'm sure this event is the one Hayley means. So the website says it starts at 7, and you say it starts at 8. So, which is it? And will it be Live only on the east coast? Of course prime time is the best-viewing time, so it's better if it's not live on the west coast. That's news time.  |

I've got the banner and I'll be there. Let's see....free parking at the metro stations in Maryland, metro ride to the Mall.....OOPS, if there are rehearsals it might be an overnight.....to hear Hayley sing one song? YOU BET! Anyone care to go along?

Sorry about the confusion! Yep...live at 8 PM for the east coast...plus the entire broadcast will be replayed at 9:30 PM. I'd love to see Hayley live, but right now I'm just excited she's even coming somewhere in this country at all, even just for one song. After all, it's been nearly 3 years since her last performance here.
Plus it's on national TV, what more could you ask for? It's not like she's on tour yet.

Hi Libby, It's good news that she is doing the performance in the USA, it's a shame I will not be there when she does as I am in Washington DC next month for a week  But I am sure you will or one of our USA members will record it for us Thanks from me too for all your hard work on the official forum linking to HWI.
