Okay, my TV guide says the show will be 90 min. So, there should be plenty of time to show Hayley in that amount of time. However, it does not appear that it will be repeated right after, as it says in other write-ups. Or if it is, it's a half hour show being shown 3 times. I hope not, because that wouldn't leave time for very many performances! I'm pretty sure it's an hour and a half. Of course I'm sure that will include 10 minute "blabbing" breaks (PBS begging for donations). Hi Libby, PBS stations will differ as to re-broadcast the concert after the live 90 minute show. Mine will be repeating the show again at 9:30 PM on Sunday. There won't be any pledge breaks either...not in a live show. I wouldn't call it begging either. My local station lost millions in state funding and might lose millions more if federal funding has its way. I will be taping Hayley's performance in HD i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi TimJ Saw your tweet to Hayley on Twitter regarding her rehersal time. In case you haven't heard, I just saw a schedule of the dress rehersal and she is down for 11:15 AM to 11:45AM(subject to change). Am not computer savvy enough to give you the address, but if you do a Twitter search on PiaBrightVoice you will find that she has given the address of the site with the information. (You will see Hayley's name in her tweet.) Sorry that I can't do better for you.

Mine shows it airing from 7-10 p.m. CDT, so I would assume that includes a rebroadcast.

What will she sing? Last time it was Shenandoah, so this time it could be Amazing Grace or Tonight We'll Light a Candle or For the Fallen. Or none of the above, but instead a rousing rendition of "God Bless America" or "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." This show aims to inspire patriotism while honoring those who've sacrificed, so whatever she sings it should be something familiar to our ears.

I really hope it's For the Fallen. I think I've said that before. That's because I really, really like it. Also, since the holiday honors servicemen, just as Rembrance/Veteran's Day does, it certainly seems to fit the best. Also, since she is now known as a Forces songbird, it would make sense for her to sing something especially for the military. GBA & BHOTR are more 4th of July songs to me, but maybe that's just me.
I kind of hope it's not Amazing Grace. Yes, Hayley sings it AMAZINGLY, especially lately. But something new would be better. Hasn't it been the complaint in the past that she just sang Amazing Grace in America, when she could've done her more different, exotic songs like Pokarekare Ana?
I would guess Pia Toscano or Yolanda will be the ones singing the big patriotic songs, since they're the ones with the big, powerful voices.

So Joe, does that mean you're doing the honors for HWI? I do hope so, as it would be too much of a challenge for me this time, especially since I'm working the whole Memorial Day weekend. Yes, the whole weekend, all 4 days, plus 1!

Yes, the whole weekend, all 4 days, plus 1! Sorry Libby...I've no way to capture or link the broadcast to my PC. I still rely on my VCR. As with the July 4th show, my only offering will be photos of Hayley on the TV. That stinks that you're working...but I often remind myself that it's better than being out of work Have a great day, Joe

Since this is a Memorial Day concert maybe Hayley could dedicate a song to the victims of our recent tornadoes that have claimed hundreds of lives across the midwest and the south. Here in Missouri we had the worst tornado in 60 years destroy the city of Joplin a few days ago. These disastrous storms are very much on the minds of many Americans right now.

She could, but the holiday is about the servicemen who've sacrificed their lives for freedom. Joe, I will be recording the show on DVD, but I just can't guarantee anything more than that. If nobody else can get it, I'll definitely try, but I will definitely need some help! And I won't have much time to try until Tuesday.

My local PBS station here in the San Francisco area lists Hayley prominently in their channel guide. "Performers include Yolanda Adams, B.B. King, NYPD tenor Daniel Rodriguez, Hayley Westenra and Pia Toscano." That was a very pleasant surprise to see here listed fourth.
