Hello Jim! Hayley also posted a link on her Facebook page which I've shared on HWI's page. I added a link to this thread too. Richard

Well, I guess this de facto confirms Hayley's participation, right? Glad for the americans!

I think Hayley probably used the link that I tweeted just the night before! Which would've been early morning in the UK. I could record it, but I have absolutely no idea how to upload it on a computer. Or even how to record a program and only upload the Hayley part. I wish I did! Hopefully someone else will be able to do this.

Here's a preview of this year's program, but maddeningly, it does not mention Hayley!! video.pbs.org/video/1897188134All of the written descriptions do mention her. Actually, they don't mention that Policemen-tenor guy, Daniel Rodriquez, either. I would think he would be of interest to many Americans, because of his tributes after 9/11.

Here's the description from my local listing; it lists more people than we've seen before, including one of the recent American Idol casualties... who actually is extremely talented.
I hope she sings something really good that helps her stand out. That's why I'm really hoping for For the Fallen, because it is such a wonderful song.
I'm also wondering if all the performers sing something patriotic, as well? When Jerry Lewis was in the Capitol 4th program with Hayley, I don't think he sang anything patriotic.
So, I guess there's really no telling what she'll sing. I just hope she doesn't do a repeat of O Shenandoah.
I wonder if she was invited because of her involvement in armed forces' charities, and all that. Who is it that invites her? Or is it her management who decides to have her do this?

And you'll be there, right?
Is there anybody who can promise to record the show for us? I have no idea how to upload anything from a DVD, let alone isolate a single performance from the show. Or could somebody instruct me? I will still record it for myself to keep forever, but at the moment I am not knowlegeable on how to upload it on a computer.

I currently have DVD-RW's, which I use to record stuff. Does that not work? And if there is some way to do it with that, couldn't I just upload the whole show and somehow send it to an expert (Dave) to edit for me? Or is that way too complicated (for me)?

Hello Libby and Tim and Graeme and everyone! Of course, we'd love to get some high quality footage of Hayley's participation in the Memorial Day concert and I'm sure we can work out a way for you to get your recordings to us - if necessary! But I am hoping that the concert will be broadcast "live" in the UK on one of the news channels such as CNN, Fox or CNBC - though it's probably still too soon for the schedules to show it so I haven't looked. And they might not show Hayley (adverts!!!). It could also be broadcast "raw" on transatlantic satellite feed, so I'll be looking out for that too. Nearer the time, we will hopefully know more, and we can firm up on everything then if we need to. Cheers, Dave

Dave, you think they might not even show Hayley on PBS? Noooooo...... They showed her on the Capitol 4th show, so hopefully, since they invited her back again, hopefully that means they like her enough to show her again, too.

Okay, my TV guide says the show will be 90 min. So, there should be plenty of time to show Hayley in that amount of time. However, it does not appear that it will be repeated right after, as it says in other write-ups. Or if it is, it's a half hour show being shown 3 times. I hope not, because that wouldn't leave time for very many performances! I'm pretty sure it's an hour and a half. Of course I'm sure that will include 10 minute "blabbing" breaks (PBS begging for donations).
