I don't think this has been mentioned previously but Laura has been signed up by Steve Abbott at Harmonic Artists to manage her career. (Incidentally, he has also signed Rhydian Roberts).
She is not only a wonderful singer but also quite an athlete. Read this from Harmonic's website:

Decca has announced her album Lavender Blue! John Rutter and Patrick Hawes have worked on it with her. Because of this, I have also set up a profile for her on my site. Video promo for her new album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC2IkOy8ugs

Wow! Definitely going to be buying the album, whenever it comes out. She sounds better on her own than with All Angels. It was a good idea for her to leave.

Wow! Definitely going to be buying the album, whenever it comes out. She sounds better on her own than with All Angels. It was a good idea for her to leave. I agree with this in many ways. I feel as though she was getting to a point where she was a bit technically advanced for the group. She was the only one of the four to pursue vocal study at a higher level and in many ways it was a smart career move for her (though at the time I was afraid I would never get to hear her sing again!). It would have been very difficult for her to continue singing the cross over repertoire that the group was pursuing while working on things that require more technical dexterity at the Royal College of Music, where the demands are probably high as is! This specific album was probably a very good choice for her. The folk song repertoire will allow her to sing in the high level classical technique that she is being trained in without having to sound 'Operatic' if you will, which doesn't appeal to some audiences. Because of this, her voice on this album will likely appeal to several audiences. Like they talk about in the video, folk songs are timeless pieces and are often included on both cross-over and strait classical albums alike. Because she is still only 20, some people who may be considered 'high-nose opera/classical aficionados' will expect beautiful technique, but not anything that is too advanced for her age and where she is in her vocal study. As a voice major myself that is Laura's age, I understand that folk songs are specifically appropriate for all ages and levels of vocal study and those who are involved with the classical singing world know this as well. Especially for people our age who's voices aren't yet fully developed, these songs help us sound our best because they highlight the natural beauty of the instrument in its current state without putting too much strain on it, as well as some of the more basic vocal technical fundamentals that we may be working on, such as even registration, lack of tension in the muscles used for singing, natural tone, beautiful phrasing, and good breath support. In addition, the English folk songs will be great to showcase her interpretation skills in her mother tongue, giving an audience an idea of what may be to come later in her career if she chooses to pursue the operatic repertoire in which many languages will be represented. I'm impressed that she is being so wise with her career and this is definitely a great step in the right direction for her! She has one of the most lovely voices of anyone our age that I've heard of and because of that paired with her endearing personality, natural beauty, and genuine love for music she will bring something refreshing and anticipated in whatever direction she goes! Really looking forward to this album.

Hi Mcessna89 and welcome to Hayley's forum. Your comments on Laura Wright are very interesting and I agree that her departure from All Angels was timely and inevitable. I also look forward to your views on Hayley's voice in due course,.
Best wishes Martin

I also look forward to your views on Hayley's voice in due course,. Best wishes Martin For sure! It was actually listening to Hayley that got me hooked on All Angels in a round about way and I love both equally! I started listening to them both in 2007 or so. Even though a lot of my voice/music major friends highly dislike the crossover repertoire I personally enjoy it a lot! I'll hopefully post a bit more about Hayley as well, but this week is finals week so I'm a bit busy studying! Maybe I'll have to take a break, though

Laura's album name has been changed to The Last Rose, as opposed to Lavender Blue.
Good choice in my opinion.
