My thoughts for 2011: -Hayley will release what is probably her final album for Decca/Universal around Easter, UK, Ireland and NZ only. -Hayley will not renew her contract with Decca, deciding she wants to do what makes her happy, not others. -Hayley will not return to the US, the time for her to break the US market is past. -Hayley will go public with her relationship as part of moving the focus onto doing what she wants. -Hayley will still keep mum about why she didn't continue with CW, and, in the unlikely event there is a CW reunion, she will not participate. -Hayley will not sing for the royal wedding, being deemed too much of a lightweight musically. - i can agree with a couple of these...

Wow, somebody's a cynic. You've got me all depressed now. I hope none of them turn out to be true. Well, about the relationship, she's more likely to stay private, if it's about focusing on what she wants. It's sort of already been public for a while now, anyway. It's somewhat beyond her control. Hayley hasn't been "mum" about not continuing with CW. She has said more than once that she never intended to stay with them, because she prefers her solo career. I agree completely, although I'm very glad she did participate for a while. If there ever is a reunion, I think she will be there if she possibly can. While Hayley's upcoming album may not help her "break" the U.S. market (yet), it's certainly no reason not to release it here. Making it more difficult for U.S. fans to buy her new album would only make things worse. There are lots of fans who would want to buy it, so it would be a sad mistake not to give us a release. To me, Martin's youtube statistics are very encouraging, not to mention that a large majority of members on the official forum are from the U.S.! Her Celtic Woman fans were gained after Celtic Treasure was released, so I'm very interested to see how this additional fan-base will affect her future album sales in the U.S. I'm thinking there's probably been a lot of special time and effort for this album, by Hayley, Decca, and her management. I feel sure they're really going to try to boost her career with it. There's even been talk of an international tour to go along with it. They're not going to give up and dwell on the lack of success in the past. What did she hire new management for, to take her backwards? No, if anything, it's to help her move forward.

i dunno libby,
i think she might go public with her relationship at some point if its going well. which [without irony] i do hope it is.... she should have someone; but then the universe is a bit sucky that way.
i share the easter release prediction... and i like the focusing on her happiness part [though i dont agree with the how]
i dont see why being public would make her happy.... they wouldnt be able to go anywhere. its only public if you know where to find it
the dumping decca one doesnt make sense.... release an album then loose the label?
sorry, richard, im being serious again... im just not good at fun

Decca is not forwards. A new label is forwards. Decca struggle to launch artists (and albums) now. I wish it wasn't the case. Musically, Decca is my favourite label.

My thoughts for 2011: [snip] -Hayley will not sing for the royal wedding, being deemed too much of a lightweight musically. Hayley is not in the UK (or NZ and some other countries) a musical lightweight in her genre, far from it. She is well known and well respected in the music industry there, so if the Royal couple like her music, they will have no trouble at all persuading the establishment and organisers to invite her. But her popularity is mostly among people older than the Royal couple so I wouldn't myself predict her involvement - but it's most certainly possible, and I have my fingers crossed for her. Also, I've just had another look at the first few posts in the thread and I think it is intended to be light-hearted or at least positive, so let's try to keep it that way. There's more than enough gloominess around due to the weather at the moment! Cheers, Dave

Not sure at all that she would dump Decca. I know there have been issues with promotion in the past, but if they get the new album launch right and it is as successful as I'm sure it deserves to be, why change?
I don't expect her to want to make any sort of big public splash about any part of her private life. She is not the sort of person who would, I don't think she has any interest at all in celebrity, only in performing and helping her charities.
I think it is much more likely things will go on as they are. The media might find out some things, but would only talk about them is they started to take an interest in Hayley.
As for the Royal Wedding, I live in hope.

Dave, the Queen is an older person, and she likes Hayley. She might have some influence on the musical guest choices. And I'm sure there'll be other singers, too, so it wouldn't hurt to have at least one singer geared to older people. After all, older people are probably interested in the wedding, too. Not to mention her support of the armed forces, which mostly consists of younger people. Nicola, in my statement that you quoted, I was not referring to Decca. I was talking about what Fusilier said about not releasing the album in the U.S. That's what I meant about going backwards. Sorry if that was not clear, but I didn't mention her leaving Decca at all.

My predictions: 1. New album released in June. (...Jono buys the album along with most people here 2. New HSJS album released in November. 3. Tour of a few European countries in June/ July to promote new album (my guesses being France, Germany and Italy).. and of course the UK. 4. Two concerts in Vancouver, one in Toronto, one in New York (in August). (my predictions appear to be getting more specific lol). 5. Hayley to tour Australia/ New Zealand in December (and January 2012)... which will begin with a concert in Melbourne and Sydney, and end with a tour of New Zealand - including concerts in Christchurch, Wellington, Nelson, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hawkes Bay, Auckland, Palmerston North, Invercargil and Keri Keri. 6. The album does not quite achieve the success of "Pure", but is much more popular than the other albums released by Hayley.

With all this specificity you should be able to throw something in there for the middle of the US? Please? BillR

How about a concert in Kansas City, Missouri on the 27th of November @ 7pm (Hayley is on her way to Australia). Disclaimer: Jonathan takes no responsibility for the outcome of any of his above mentioned predictions. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Yeah, Jono, why not all of NZ? Umm, and you seem to have forgotten the west coast. That's closer to NZ than Kansas City. New York is not the only state that contains Hayley fans, unless you don't consider me a Hayley fan.

Yeah, Jono, why not all of NZ? from jono's list he only left out dunedin new plymouth, rotorua, gisborne from the traditional concert venues... blenheim i guess would be covered by nelson. one doesnt do concerts on the south islands west coast....theres really not the population.. maybe that would be an opportunity for her. possibly as a tie in for Pike River, though it would be a little late.

Hey, Jonathan. With all this specificity you should be able to throw something in there for the middle of the US? BillR bill, sorry most of us new zealanders struggle with american geography... so we tend to forget everything outside of LA, chicago, NY, Boston. it was rather striking though that he left off most of the entire US. im sure jono will revisit his predictions with an enhancement covering the other 250 million people in the USA
