Yep! I learned that from Jono... who never posts anymore. But yeah, don't singers ever perform the anthem ahead of soccer (yes, I know, it's your football) games. You know, the name football does make more sense for soccer than it does for American football, where they only use their foot in the kick-off, or whatever it is. LOL Yeah, that's how much I know about ball sports. My favorite sport does not involve balls or fields of any sort. It involves ice and big jumps, beautiful lifts, and lovely costumes.

Well, it's about time Hayley had a turn! Just because she's the beloved All Blacks' singer doesn't mean she can't sing for the All Whites, as well. So, can any of you from New Zealand enlighten me on any anthem singers for the All Whites, or any other teams/sports where singers often sing the anthems? Thanks!

New question for the experts:
Is it ethically okay to repeat in the forums something Hayley said to you specifically at an after-concert meet 'n greet?
I struggled with this today because of the David Foster topic. I met Hayley back in '04 and asked her about another singer and the subject of David Foster immediately came up. I don't exactly know if I'm at liberty to reveal what Hayley said to me since it was just an informal remark at the time. But now that she's apparently going to be working with Foster it may shed some light on their history in a way that hasn't "been cleared" by her current management.
I will abide by the standards preferred by the experts of this.

Hi Steve Is it ethically okay to repeat in the forums something Hayley said to you specifically at an after-concert meet 'n greet? I think you may have answered your own question here. If you're unsure about revealing a comment Hayley made to you, then perhaps it's best kept private. On a couple of ocassions where Hayley has said something to me directly, and where I thought it might be appropriate for the forum, I specifically asked her if it was OK before posting. Hope that helps. Best wishes Grant

But now that she's apparently going to be working with Foster it may shed some light on their history in a way that hasn't "been cleared" by her current management. Well, I think the fact that she is about to work with David Foster would give you liberty. Maybe I'm not an "expert", but I still have an opinion... yes, of course I'm curious. But I hardly think it would hurt to mention something she told you over 8 years ago! Remember when she said Andrew Lloyd Webber wanted to write a song for her? Well, he never did! So, whatever was supposed to happen with David Foster obviously never happened till now, if it's even the same thing. I have a suggestion. Maybe you should tell it to Richard or Dave privately, and let them decide whether it's okay to tell the rest of us here or not. How about that?

Hi everyone, After a brief discussion, we've decided to move the recent posts about some problems on the HayleyOnline website to a new thread, which can be found in the Off Topic board as follows: HayleyOnline problemsAsk An Expert wasn't really intended for that kind of discussion. Please post any follow-up to this in the new thread, thanks. Dave

But now that she's apparently going to be working with Foster it may shed some light on their history in a way that hasn't "been cleared" by her current management. I will abide by the standards preferred by the experts of this. My own personal opinion is that anything said in a public meet & greet could not be considered remotely confidential. It's hardly a private and personal conversation, after all. If you'd met her in an informal context not remotely related to her professional activities it would be different, but meet & greets are part of her job. The only reasons I can think of not to pass on a meet & greet comment by any artist is if you feel it may prove hurtful or detrimental to them, or it may hurt someone else. So to sum up: if an artist was indiscreet or rude about someone, say nothing. If s/he was complimentary, share the comment by all means. The key to whether to share an artist's remarks is always in how well what was said reflects on the artist, IMO. A gentleman never deliberately shows someone else up. Showing them in a good light is something else again.

I still wish we could be clued in on this. LOL I mean, if it's never going to happen, what does it hurt to know? Also, why tantalize us with this tidbit (or lack thereof), and just never tell us? What's the point?

Nine years old, too! Must be one heck of an inflammatory comment! (And no, I can't honestly see Hayley being deliberately rude about someone)
