Hi -,
I used to look in on HayleyOnline several times a day up until a couple of days ago when changes were made there. The site is neatly laid out now, but not one single thing is clickable for me. If I place my cursor arrow over any "here", nothing happens, and nothing works in the headings at the top of site. Would appreciate it very much if someone could clue me in as to what is going on.

I heard it wasn't working recently, but I'm sure Martin can tell us. I just clicked on a link yesterday, though, and it worked fine.

BobS Hi Bob, I suspect there might still be teething problens with the new version of the site, and Matt is still tweaking it. Bear with us, we will get there. Anyway, I have been asked to ask you to try again, and let me know if you still have problems. Tried it myself just now, and it seems ok. Martin D

Hi Martin D,
Just found your message, and have tried HayleyOnline again as requested. Same problem. Since I first wrote, I have noticed in particular the very first post to the new site, to do with "anti-bot", which I am not familiar with. I have been wondering if I am being "ostracized". That would appear to fit the situation. Explaining a little more, I saw the site go down a few days ago, just briefly, maybe having to do with renewal. When it came back up, the heading was a jumbled mess, printing on top of printing, but links on postings did not seem to be affected. That went on for several days until the change was made to the present format, which looks good. Await any further thoughts you may have.
Thanks, BobS

Thanks for that Bob, have passed it on.
The site was down for a few hours a few days ago - I think because Matt forgot to renew our subscription to the web hosting company.

I've been corrected on this.
anti-bot protection is what we use to help stop bots from accessing the page and logging in. we get 1-3 bots joining every day and spamming us
The site was down because one of those bots hacked the page... not because of hosting issues.
Still working on your problem Bob.

Thank you, Martin, for the update. BobS Hi Martin D, The plot thickens! I still cannot use the new site. I tried it on my wife's computer, and the site does not work on hers, either. I just now sent the address to the site to my grandson, a couple of towns away, asking him to check it. When, I checked my "email sent" to make sure that I had given him the correct address, I found the site working properly!!!! But still not working for me. BobS

Hi everyone, After a brief discussion, we've decided to move the recent posts about some problems on the HayleyOnline website to a new thread, which can be found in the Off Topic board as follows: HayleyOnline problemsAsk An Expert wasn't really intended for that kind of discussion. Cheers, Dave Hi Dave, Thank you for being so tolerant of our discussing problems with a "rival" website here. OK we know that is not really the case, we all work to support Hayley. But I'm sure you are well aware of the attacks that sites suffer from time to time. and it is a tribute to HWI that most members here are never made aware that such things happen. Best Wishes as always. Martin D

Hi Martin D, No problem, and as it happens, we had an issue with the HWI website recently, it delayed me uploading all the NZ stuff, which will now have to wait until Monday, it's OK now though. Time to move these last two posts into the new thread now (I've inserted an appropriate quote into yours) Cheers, Dave

Alright, I'm not sure if anyone can do much about this, but the HayleyOnline page is extremely unstable on my mobile (which is where I basically do all of my Hayley-related stuff), which makes it quite a struggle to get to the chat page for the monthly chat. Any way it could be made more stable, or at least someone would be lovely and oblige and post a direct link to the chat room, just to see if that works? Thanks very much! -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
