That's very true Peter, regarding the bow, and I know this because yesterday evening, the Granada Reports TV show I mentioned in the RVP thread had several of the stars demonstrating their bow! Even Tony Bennett, it was a good piece of cheeky-but-nice reporting. Nicole Scherzinger said when she practiced it, she was told her bow wasn't deep enough! Cheers, Dave

Does that have something to do with what she was wearing?

Well Hayley herself tweeted sometime back that she had to practice her curtsy for the RVP XD

Yes. If I'm understanding Dave's comment correctly, going by the joker smiley next to it, there's a crude meaning behind it, probably referring to how much skin she was showing.

Well you understand wrong, it was the way she made the comment that was humorous and not in any way crudely. The interview I referred to took place before the show and before anyone interviewed had revealed their stage outfit. Dave

Okay, good. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

This may seem like a rhetorical question, but I assure you it's not. Will an expert please comment on a matter of propriety:
Is it any of our business whether Hayley's singing at that wedding was a paid gig or not? I felt awkward wondering about it, but I wanted to know the answer, and so do most of us.... but... isn't this a private matter between her and the planners?

Hi Steve,
If we felt that the discussion was becoming too personally intrusive or speculative we would of course intervene, but I don't think there has been a need for that so far.
Cheers, Dave

Even if she didn't get paid for it, I think it's still a great opportunity for her. The mere fact she was invited to sing for the biggest NZ wedding of the year (or so they say) flys in the face of Mr. Sells' pitiful, ludicrous statements about her. Only a star in her imagination, huh? Oh, really, then how else does she get invited to a famous athlete's wedding? Obviously she didn't imagine that! There's solid proof in 3 articles so far, at least.

As she's a professional singer it would be very unlikely that she would do a gig she was NOT paid for, wedding or not, unless it was for a close personal friend.
Given her close ties to the All Blacks, it could be either, of course, but there's nothing at all wrong in getting paid for doing your job.

On the subject of CDs and DVDs.
sometimes when I get ( A commercial release ) or even burn a new cd or dvd,
It skips or won't play properly,
I leave it playing on repeat with the amplifier / TV off.
I go back to it a few hours later and it plays properly.
Does anyone know the technical reasons for this quirk of technology ?

How many times do you have to do it? Does it really work with a DVD, too? I have one that skips, but it's not always the same part every time. So, you think it would really work if I did this? Just put it in the DVD player, and play it without turning anything else on at all? I've never done repeat with a DVD, either.

How many times do you have to burn your hand before you stop touching the cooker when it's hot ? I don't know, Otherwise I wouldn't be asking, It's not a trick question that I already know the answer to. I am prepared to repeat an experiment numerous times, as long as it does not involve personal pain, like touching a hot cooker my son used to burn cds and his bin was full of them, I mean a lot of them, I want to know what happens between the writing of the disc and the first few plays of the disc, I understand the burn process marks an aluminium foil on the disc with a laser, I understand the cd player reads the disc with a laser, I have tried exposing recently burnt discs to sunlight on the window ledge, to see if it would have the same effect on a recently burnt disc as playing it, All I discovered was that I had a new form of sundial, creating pretty coloured spots of light on my bedroom ceiling by which I could tell what time it is, If I can track the light pattern and I am not Obscured By Clouds over the period of a whole year, I will be able to create a whole calender on my ceiling. oh and by the way, Sharpies work upsidedown on polystyrene ceiling tiles. Get away from me with that long sleeved coat, I am doing a legitimate scientific experiment here, What do you mean this is a hotel room ? Don't be rediculous............ helpppppppppppppppppppppppppp

The cd on the window ledge does work with the moon as well. It has been quite fascinating watching the changing arc or path of the light patch on the ceiling over several months. With a piece of string and a protractor I can also find the angle of the light source to the earth's surface. as they say, little amuses the simple If light reflects off the protractor, would that light qualify as "tractor beams" ?
