Hi Steve,
Well, predicting the future is nororiuosly hard but....
I'm sure she will still be recognisably the Hayley we know and love. I suspect the changes that are to come will be less than the changes we have already heard as Hayley's voice has matured. Perhaps that process will continue for a little bit longer, but I would expect the process to slow down now.
That assumes of course that Hayley continues to look after her voice, as I'm sure she will. And that she doesn't consciousy try to alter her voice - why should she?

I'm going to worry about that when the time comes.

Hi Steve, Well, predicting the future is nororiuosly hard but.... Heh, it sometimes comes easy for me! (I accurately predicted the starting day and time of our "Occupy Wall Street" movement months before it was even conceived — and you can look it up on google). But now I have a serious question for the experts: I've noticed that when Hayley uses a corded microphone there is better sound quality than with her cordless mikes. Am I imagining this or do traditional corded mikes allow for greater pickup of the sound?

Hi Steve,
There is no intrinsic reason why a well designed and built corded microphone should "sound" any better or worse than an equivalent well designed and built cordless microphone, as long as they are both set up correctly and are free of electrical interference (which can be checked for at the set-up stage).
It is probably a coincidence if you have noticed the kind of differences that you mentioned - and almost all online video and audio (from broadcast source to final compressed version) is usually a much weaker link in the chain than any professional microphone, which is unlikely to be a major reason for differences in quality. Amateur recordings made at concerts will of course generally be of a lesser technical quality than recordings from TV or radio broadcasts - the loudspeakers and auditorium acoustics are extra links that weaken the chain, even if we ignore camcorder quality.
There are, of course, some exceptions but that is probably not down to radio mic versus corded mic.
Cheers, Dave

As Dave rightly says, there is no reason why a radio mic should produce inferior sound quality to a wired one. It can happen of course if the radio link is not set up correctly, particularly if a number of radio mics are used in close proximity causing intermodulation effects to occur. But this should not happen if the sound engineer does his job properly. Don't forget that wired mics can and do go wrong when cables are damaged or badly connected, causing noise, signal loss or hum. There is an increasing tendency in both professional and amateur work towards radio mics, as they give performers the freedom to move around a stage and remove the tripping hazard of cables.

Hey Steve, if you can predict the future, tell us the next time Hayley is setting foot in the US? Don't say never, either, 'cause I won't buy it.

Hi Libby I was optimistic for next year; but after the trip here on the release I'm not as optimistic. I see Susan Boyle has a new album out. I think it may be more non classical music. I still think Hayley needs to do that if she ever wants to gain some traction in our country. Best Wishes Larry

Am I correct to say that Hayley currently doesnt have anything scheduled between mid December and early Jan over in Europe?
I will be over there and would be very keen to catch one of her concerts, a Christmas concert would be awesome!

I think you are correct Jono. I would expect that after her Taiwan tour in December, if she runs true to form, Hayley will go back to Christchurch for Christmas and the New Year. Then return to UK sometime early in 2012. But that's a guess.

I remember reading it somewhere where Hayley did the Taiwan Tour so she could be here in NZ for her break. cheers, Rodders

Hi, Jeskyaa, welcome to the forum. First, you need to have a photo saved in someplace like Photobucket. Once you've done that, go to Profile at the top of the forum. Then, go to Modify Profile, which will be a the top of the profile screen. Then, put in the photo's url (from photobucket, or whatever) in the box that says Avatar URL. I hope that helps! Let me know if you need any advice on using Photobucket.

Hi Jeskyaa and welcome,
You can use a photo uploaded anywhere on the internet, on your own website if you have one or as Libby says, an image hosting site such as Flikr, photobuclet, imageshack etc. or if you have an account with Twitter you can use Twitpic. If you register with Twitter you can follow Hayley's tweets too of course.
All you need is a url.

New question:
Hayley recently performed before Princess Anne at the RVP. Was she required to curtsey for the Princess? Or is that something she does only for the Queen?

New question: Hayley recently performed before Princess Anne at the RVP. Was she required to curtsey for the Princess? Or is that something she does only for the Queen? The curtsy is for any royal especially when in a formal situation but a bow at the waist is acceptable especially if the skirt is tight in a theatre scenario but not for formal occasions, although a crossing of the knees in a bob would be better. You could get away with an inclination of the neck but you are unlikely to be invited back! Peter S.
