New question for the experts:
As we all know, the release of Paradiso occurs on different dates in different regions over many months. Would it not be better for her albums to be released worldwide on the same day to take advantage of modern day global interconnectedness? People everywhere are now entangled in a field of consciousness that stretches across oceans and borders. If one date for everyone were done instead of the staggered approach the entire world of Hayley fans would be in sync. Your thoughts?

Well Steve, the record company are the experts and they think not, and I tend to agree with that.
I'm sure there are good commercial reasons for the phased release policy, only some of which are obvious to us. I suspect that Hayley is far from the only singer for whom this is done.
Cheers, Dave

I'm sure there are good commercial reasons for the phased release policy, only some of which are obvious to us. I suspect that Hayley is far from the only singer for whom this is done. Cheers, Dave Dave's comment is obvious: in a changing world Decca has much to contend with (as with all artists at what ever level) and the fact Decca is still there and has the stature it does should tell us that in the main they do know what they are doing and I suggest boring, mundane logistics has much to do with it. By phasing release there is a continual drip, drip feed which, with our digital intertwining, means repetitive reports from different locations criss-crossing and being picked up for secondary reporting. World announcements with immediate availability are nothing more than cockerel calls and the morning is soon over. Two things are significant. In the event of a world disaster the expense and effort is not all lost in one go. That is the promoter's worst nightmare, that at the point of launch the world's press attention is concentrated somewhere else. Secondly, different aspects emerge and different people at different times pick up threads that they think of following through from a different local angle. Additionally, no artist matches a royal event when the attention of millions gradually builds up and their attention is riveted for a day. Then, when done, the day is over. Dripping releases means general background awareness accumulates and several factors are happening which complement the collective whole: Paradiso; World in Union; Rieux; run-in time for annual awards early next year. When you think of the collective whole and making Hayley available in different locations over time, I think there has been quite a detailed amount of planning and management organisation. These things are not happening by chance. They have been planned. She is receiving the best co-ordinated promotion she has received for some time on top of which she is celebrating 10 years in the business. I think they are treating her pretty well. Peter S.

Isn't it so Hayley can come to each country right at the time of the release of the album in that country? She can't be everywhere at once promoting the album. Hayley's albums have only been released in the same month as the rest of the world once. And that was Winter Magic. Pure was released 10 months after the UK. Odyssey and Treasure were both out the month after the UK release. WM was released only a few days later. And now Paradiso is out just over a month of the UK (and 6 months after NZ! ).

Can somebody link me to the thread discussing about Hayley's collaboration with James horner in the movie, The New world? Because I thought that she sang only Listen to the wind, but listening to the tracks show that there are a couple of vocalese tracks which are distinctly Hayley, and some others having her voice in different bits.....this is amazing, I'd love to read more.

Such a quick response! Thank you! and oh my goodness, so basically Listen to the wind "DIDN'T" appear in the movie o.O?! No wonder it's not as famous as it should have been

Hello Simba! It was actually the director Terrence Malick who decided not to use James Horner's music in the film, so I've corrected my previous post. Richard

Even if it had been used for the movie, it would only have been used at the end when most people are headed out the door, and it's not like the movie was much of a blockbuster, anyway. I wasn't all that crazy about it. I have a book about Pocahontas by a woman who is distantly related to her, and it is much more interesting, if it is a bit long. The Hobbit, now, that will be a popular movie. And if Howard Shore decides he wants Hayley on the soundtrack, Peter Jackson has already stated (via his staff in a letter to me!) that they will take Hayley into consideration when it's time to make those decisions. I think Howard Shore would've thought of her anyway, since he chose her to sing for his LOTR symphony in Dallas in 2004. It's not likely Peter Jackson would refuse any idea of Howard Shore's, after winning at least 2 Oscar's for his music in the LOTR. BTW, in a recent interview, PJ said he has been watching the RWC, and even attended one game, so hopefully he will see Hayley sing at the RWC final! Hopefully singing for the All Blacks! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Plus, he might have heard her World in Union track, and at least seen the recent headlines about her.

From comments Hayley has made in interviews and on Twitter, I'd say this was very much the case, yes. It's all about Hayley being able to be there to promote at the time of release.

Libby: Thanks for your wonderful post! I'd be like really really really happy if Hayley sang in what would likely be a hit! Your post seems to be connecting everything in the most optimistic way, if that happens, I'll be really happy! And theme for a Hobbit movie, well I can imagine how spectacular that'd be! You know, after singing the RWC official theme, and then in a movie like this, (having already worked with Morricone!) would be an amazing line up

Yes. But I don't want to get everyone's hopes up too much, because there's certainly no guarantee they'll choose her. They'd have to be nuts not to, though, especially after receiving 2 letters about it from one of her craziest, most devoted fans... yes, 2 letters now! No response on the 2nd one yet, but I'm sure they're all extremely busy at the moment. They probably received it a couple weeks ago, going by the amount of time it took for them to respond last time. Part of what made me decide to write again was her amazing performance of Amazing Grace at the memorial service, and of course her newest work with Morricone. There's really no other voice beautiful enough for elvish scenes these days. She has the perfect, pure, ethereal quality that I don't think anyone else possesses these days.

New question:
What will Hayley sound like when she's much older, like in her 30's, 40's and 50's? Will she still sound like the Hayley we know or will another voice entirely set in with the march of years?
