Dori, in a perfect world we would be discussing the Ball and its associated charity in better balance with the sensation of her dress. But in a perfect world we wouldn't need charities either. Like it or not her image presentation that night is inescapably the news. The charity ball is almost a footnote. But, you see, this works brilliantly for the charity itself, since it depends on over-the-top entertainment and promotion to pique interest. Hayley showed sophistication in her selection of that evening's attire. She gets it that image sells particularly well where fundraising is concerned, and has obviously paid close attention to what works best, and you can't argue with over a million dollars successfully raised in this fashion!

Hello everybody! I've had a very interesting thought this morning. Did Hayley go to the Ball as her namesake Lucy Westenra, who turned into a vampire in Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' novel? If I'm right, Hayley is an absolute genius! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

What bought about that interesting thought, Richard? :2fun:
Steve, this discussion about Hayley's dress has gotten a little heated on this thread. I think, and many of us have said this before, that it's time to move on from the argument about the dress. We all disagree, so why can't we agree to disagree? I just don't understand for much longer are we going to discuss this dress. I feel like Hayley has been both, criticized and supported enough on this issue.

Hello Dori! I think Hayley's look was inspired by the character in Dracula. I really do hope I'm right, because it's such a clever idea. Richard

Hello everyone
Just a point, but this event was almost a week ago and, whether it's about a dress, a person or an event we are still talking about it. If the same is true within 'the business' then it can be no bad thing for Hayley or for the charity. All have made their mark and will be remembered for a long time to come.
I have no doubt that that was the intention of everyone involved.
Best wishes Grant

Hello Nordly! We know Hayley likes to dress up when she has the opportunity. Somewhere on this forum there is a photograph of Hayley at the Pink Panther Ball, where she appeared to be dressed as Alice in Wonderland. I think she chose a more adult character this time. I've found it: Richard

Richard, now that you say that, it makes far more sense to me, and isn't as strange to me.
Dori, feel free to start a new discussion regarding the ball. If you can't think of anything different, then why expect us to? The information about the fundraising is great, of course. That's pretty much all most of us could say about that, that it's wonderful. Now what?

Hello Libby! I'm sorry I was so slow in spotting the possible connection. I might ask Hayley about it when I get the chance, if somebody doesn't beat me to it. Best Wishes, Richard

Slightly belated... but I'd just like to add my vote and say I LOVE this dress-- I love the entire look! I think the hot pink nail polish is a nice touch.

She had that nail polish on at the rugby game right before, too.

I forgot to mention, Hayley likes red wine, but perhaps not by the armful! Richard

I think, Richard, she once said she was a 'cheap date'. One glass is quite sufficient. Like me! I just slide down the wall and go to sleep, no nuisance to anyone! I don't think Hayley would get that far--the glass would still be half full and the wall still standing upright!
