Movies are never the same as the books...
It was a good movie though, maybe I should read the book too....

Hello everyone Just picked up the following tweet from Ohiyooo indicating a Taiwan release of "Winter Magic". From previous experience, Taiwan usually package their releases in boxes or slip cases, sometimes with additional items. This will be of interest to collectors. If correct, the quoted track list is at variance with the Japanese and UK releases in that "Carol Of The Bells" is replaced by "Love Came Down At Christmas". "Corpus Christi Carol" is shown as a bonus track. Interesting Heh!? Best wishes Grant The ordering of the tracks has also been dramatically changed: 01 River 02 Veni Veni Emmanuel 03 The Little Drummer Boy 04 The Christmas Song 05 Silent Night 06 Sleigh Ride 07 The Little Road to Bethlehem 08 The Coventry Carol 09 Love Came Down At Christmas 10 Peace Shall Come 11 All With You 12 Christmas Morning 13 Corpus Christi Carol / BONUS TRACK 14 Winter's Dream That'll make quite a change to the overall listening experience -- River couldn't be a more different opening track than 'The Little Road to Bethlehem'. Perhaps because Taiwan doesn't really celebrate Christmas, it's felt that the album doesn't need to open on a 'Christmassy' sort of track? Perhaps I just prefer the original tracklisting because it's what I"m used to? I just really like the way that the end half of the original tracklisting flows.

Hi Jillian The ordering of the tracks has also been dramatically changed: If that is actually the order of the tracks on the CD. We've seen occasionally in the past track lists quoted that have been nothing like the actual order on the CD. If it is as quoted, it will be, as you say, a quite different listening experience. Best wishes Grant

Hey everyone (especially NZ), The news of the Taiwan release encouraged me to have a look for the NZ release, and I found it! It wasn't listed on Marbecks, but I found it on one of my favourite online CD/ DVD stores: www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Winter-Magic/3641301/It has the same tracklisting and release date (16 November) as the UK version. I immediately gave it a 5 star rating...well I technically do have the album lol. I'll review it soon, like Grant did! Cheers Jono

I recognise that track order. It is the same as the one listed on Rate Your Music - I spotted it when I posted my review there a couple of days ago. I assumed it was an onld one. Not sure who forst added WM to the RYM site, the only other person who has rated it is Nicola.
My review hasn't appeared on RYM yet though, and neither has my rating.

Great, am I going to have to buy the Taiwan version, too? I'll wait till it's out, though, so we know for sure what's really on it. They fooled us with O Holy Night and others before, so they could be doing the same thing to Taiwan.

Hi Sharon How many versions are there of this CD? 4? There appears to be three (or four if you count both the Japanese) versions at the moment - Japan, UK and Taiwan - we'll have to wait and see if NZ and Australian versions are different, so far it doesn't look likely. Best wishes Grant

Thank you Grant...
Maybe the covers will be slightly different? Would be nice for all the collectors among us here...

Well, we've seen the NZ tracklisting now. It seems as though when we first started seeing the UK tracklist, they did show Love Came Down at Christmas, and not Carol of the Bells. We all know how that went. Who knows, maybe the same thing will happen to Taiwan. That would be really mean. Still not quite as mean as leaving out O Holy Night, though. I'd like to hear the other song, especially since I don't know it, but I wouldn't have sacrificed Carol of the Bells.

A Japanese version of the song would mean she sang it in Japanese. She didn't record another version of the song, did she? That's just the Japanese translation of the title, isn't it?
