Hi Paulo Many thanks for the info on this new album due for release on 30th September. This is just before Hayley's visit there in October so I wonder if it will be a Japanese version of the "River of Dreams" album? Or maybe it will be something totally different. CD Japan aren't showing anything yet, but HMV have it priced at Yen 3000.00 so it's obviously a full CD not a single or an EP. Here is the link to HMVI will watch out for this with interest! Best wishes Grant

When I used Babel to translate it came up with this Shining in winter - pure [vuoisu] of sweethearts So a Christmas album could be right.

Hi guys. May be I must do some.
The new Japanese CD "冬の輝き -恋人たちのピュア・ヴォイス" would be translated, "Winter Glow - A Pure Voice for Couples" by me. It will be started to sell in September 30th and it's just before Hayley's concert starts in October. Nothing more is written so far and I will translate when the detail is announced.
But why so often?
Best wishes. Maya

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant. You have already put the date and the concerts and I did not need to write above except the translation. "River of Dreams" was already released in Japan prior to HSJS2. So, the new CD "Winter Glow" ( just my translation) contains something different. Best wishes. Maya

Wow, September is very soon! Hayley seems to have quite a knack for churning out albums for the Japan Market! I suppose if it is a Christmas album, organising the arrangements wouldn't be too hard, so creating the album wouldn't take too long. I think that it would have to be new songs, Joyce. The last large collection of Christmas songs recorded by Hayley was done too long ago for them to be released again now.
I do wonder if Japan is Hayley's most lucrative market? I hope a new photoshoot is done for the album cover and booklet!

I do wonder if Japan is Hayley's most lucrative market? Hi Jillian, I think the answer to that is yes. I did some calculations a few months ago, based on the current strength of the Japanese Yen against the US Dollar, British pound and NZ dollar, the typical sale price of CDs in Japan compared to the other places, and estimated CD sales. Similar factors also apply to concerts. I think Japan wins by quite a long way and this explains Hayley's high level of activity there in 2008 and 2009. Cheers, Dave

Hi Jillian and everybody What intrigues me about this album is the title translated by Maya that it is "for couples" which would suggest love songs. But, if it's a Christmas album, I would have expected Christmas songs. Best wishes Grant

Do they celebrate Christmas in Japan? I didn't think it was a particularly Christian country. So I would be very surprised if it had many traditional carols or Christmas songs. It might even have some Japanese somgs about Christmas! We don't know.

According to ” Catholic Bishops' Conference of Japan”, Christians ratio of the population is 0.353% in Japan. But the Capitalism or the Western influence is affecting our way of life style a lot. Christmas season is the days for shop owners to be very busy. Things are sold well. So is the CDs. Many record companies prepare new titles expecting the bigger sales. ” Catholic Bishops' Conference of Japan” has a home pages at below. www.cbcj.catholic.jp/eng/index.htmBest wishes. Maya

I hope a new photoshoot is done for the album cover and booklet! She could easily have recorded it in March & April when she was there! I think she must record a new album everytime she goes to Japan! The first Japanese album was probably recorded when she was there in fall 2007, and the second one was probably when she was there spring 2008. If it's called "Winter Glow", I would guess the songs have more to do with winter than Christmas itself. I really hope they have new photos for the album, too, but it would be just like them to use an old one and doctor it up. But I would hope they would make a special, winter-themed photo of her.
