wow. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when I first understood this was a Christmas album- I'm not very fond of music that only feels right to listen to one time of the year. After reading that tracklist, though... sounds like a good collection of songs. I shouldn't be surprised that I'm excited for THIS Christmas CD. It's Hayley, after all.
Half of these songs i don't have on CD. Those I do have are rather pathetic. Really, the only other Christmas album I have is Loreena McKennitt's most recent.
Haa! the google translation of #21 made me laugh. I'm guessing that would be "What Child is This?"

Hi everyone, I too am very excited about this album! The tracklist looks wonderful. The fact that it is planned to be an international album makes me even more excited. Anyway, Hayley's official forum had a tracklist that is a little clearer to understand. If I am correct, No. 12 was written later sung by Taylor Swift , and written by Joan Javits. I find it an odd choice to be on this album, but I'm sure it will be fabulous! I had no idea whatt No. 13, Lullaby Requiem was, so I Googled it and found this: lyricwiki.org/Neil_Finn:Lullaby_RequiemAs for some other of the songs, I have no idea. Counting down the days to the release! ~NL

Hey Northern Lights, The song "Santa Baby" predates my Dad (Just)... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_BabyI don't think I've heard the Taylor Swift version, but I was sure I had heard the song before. This album comes out at a great time, we'll have plenty of time to learn the songs before the 25th December Cheers Jono

Hi Jono
I don't know the song, but, by chance, I read that Taylor had sung a song by the same title. Since she normally sings what she writes, I put two and two together... and got three!
I've edited my post, but still find it an odd choice. And I'm still very excited!

Hi everyone. I must inform you that you can try to listen to Hayley's new song in Maori here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh56ABZKoH0This is the theme song for the Exhibition of Paul Gauguin currently held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. NHK the TV station network in Japan is supporting the event and the program was televised. This song will be a bonus truck for her new album, "冬の輝き -恋人たちのピュア・ヴォイス" or "Winter Glow - A Pure Voice for Loving Couples" (just my translation). Best wishes. Maya

Hi Maya, Thanks for the Youtube link. it was very enjoyable. It looked like Hayley was writing notes for lyrics on a note-pad, with drawings/doodles etc. Best Wishes, Graham

Hi everyone
Thanks to Jillian for those screenshots, and thanks very much to Maya for providing the link to youtube - I got the first comment!
I know this is slightly off topic for this thread, but I am in need of some of Hayley's Japanese albums - I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of which album/s to buy, as I feel I'm missing out on a lot of her other material.
Any help on this would be appreciated!
Cheers
Ben

I have all of these albums, and they are worth every cent. Cheers Jono

What an enchanting song!! Hayley is definitely on top form!! I hope the rest of the world gets this! I wonder when this was done? When Hayley was last in Japan for her tour? Or maybe she popped back over there recently? Hi Jillian. Thank you for the screen shots. You did them very well and very quick. The TV program was broadcasted on Monday this week in Japan. Unfortunately, I missed it. But thanks for Youtube and the uploader to give me a chance to watch. The recording was done on the next day when Hayley was just finished her tour in Japan in March and April this year according to Hayley's family friend whom I know in NZ. Those days were the days when cherry blossoms bloom beautifully here in Japan. May be I'd better to give a translation of the narration in the TV program. The narrator says: ---------------- Mr. Mugi (the Japanese composer who plays the piano) thought of completing the song requesting Hayley to write the lyric in Maori. The cherry blossoms were in full of bloom at the location where Sakura-jima Island can be seen. Hayley gave the title to her own lyric "Toki no Tsubasa ni notte" or " Riding on the wing of time". Gauguin's hope which had been implied in his paintings is now finally become a music. ---------------- Hope this could help you to enjoy and understand the program a bit more. Best wishes. Maya

Hi Ben,
You may be able to get a good deal on HSJS from Amazon. It is on offer new at £9.95. I would think that is the standard edition. The standard edition is about £20.00 + p&p from cdjapan.co.jp. The deluxe edition is about They do not appear to have HSJS2 at the moment. cdjapan have got the deluxe edition at 3200 yen (about £24).
PLEASE NOTE because they are both valued at over £18.00 you will be liable for VAT this is charged through the carrier who may load a handling charge on. The handling charge was about £8.00 on HSJS2 when it was released.
You can also pre-order the new album either standard or deluxe from cdjapan.
I have just looked again at the cdjapan site and some of the CDs are now showing at under £18. I think this is due to a change in the exchange rate. If they are under £18.00 and shipped separate they should not be liable to VAT.
I hope this helps
Jim
