I agree with Cathleen about 'On the Wings of Time'. I don't notice it much, either.

Hello everybody! I've heard the clip of 'On The Wings Of Time', and I'm not over-excited about it either. I'll be perfectly happy with the UK version of the album. Richard

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I think I know why 'On the Wings' was included as just a bonus track. It doesn't seem to add a whole lot to the album. It was probably a good idea to leave it off the US and UK releases. It's not a Christmas song anyway. Not a bad song at all; there are just so many other better ones. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCathleen x

I think you're all nuts for not liking On the Wings of Time very much. It's such a beautiful melody! However, I never thought it needed to be on the UK or US versions of Winter Magic, since it's not a Christmas song; maybe included on her next "regular" new album. But Japan just might not be willing to release it, as MartinD suggested to me (I think it was you).
I think it should be on the NZ version of something, though!

Hi Cathleen,
Thats a great review, well done. But I disagree with you about On the wings of time as you might have guessed if you read my review. To my ears this is one of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard, and it is worth paying the extra (I think it is about three times the price) to buy this album in Japan just for this track. I would put River second and Peace Shall come third. Although All With You is a song that is growing on me rapidly. I don't think anyone has mentioned the strong finish. Three of the last four tracks are Hayley co-writes and in enjoy this part of the album most. It seems she saved the best until last.

Uuumm!! That's a very different way to review an album Martin - I had to read it twice to get the hang of it. Don't know whether it will work or not but it may just have the "What's he on about - better get the album and see for ourselves"What you need now is a catchy title to go with it i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifYou have to have an account with Amazon and HMV and log in before you can post a review and it can take up to 72 hours for it to go live. Best wishes Grant Thanks for that Grant. It was just an off the cuff idea that I couldn't resist posting. I don't think there are many singers in the world who could make such a varied album. Waht do the rest of you think. Is it worth spreading it around a bit? BTW I might be wasting my time with Sir Terry and trying too get him to push Winter Magic when it is released in the UK. It seems he is already playing Camilla Kerslake. He surely won't do two in the same week will he? But I'm tempted to have a go at him anyway. Oh, and I already have an account with Amazon, but not HMV. Martin

On the Wings of Time is probably my favourite song on the album. I guess it doesn't really fit on a Christmas/ Winter album, but I don't mind. I don't think anyone has mentioned the strong finish. Three of the last four tracks are Hayley co-writes and in enjoy this part of the album most. It seems she saved the best until last. I agree with you on this, Martin. It wasn't something I commented on, but I also noticed the strong finish to the album.

I received my album in the mail yesterday. I haven't had time to listen to it yet, but hopefully soon! Maybe I'll wait until it gets cold again here...

After listening to all of it, since it wasn't Christmastime, I thought I would only listen to ones like All With You, River, etc., and save most of the others for Christmastime. But once you start listening, and it goes on to the next song, you want to keep listening, anyway! I can do without Sleigh Ride and Chestnuts (which has never been a favorite with me, with anybody singing it) for now, though.

Well, Libby, I thought it was a strange idea to play all those Christmas songs when it wan't Christmas, or even winter, but tell you what, it doesn't matter. A lot of Christmas music is pretty dire in my opinion, and it is only the seasonal aspect that makes it tolerable. But this album is one of the select few that can be enjoyed at any time of year, I think because everything is of such a high standard. I notice that the new albums from Katherine, Faryl and Camilla Kerslake make no real attempt to be seasonal (OK Faryl has a couple of token Christmas songs). That might be good, to be aiming this album at a slightly different market to those others. I think I might find myself still playing this album long after the festive season is over, which is something I don't think applies to any other Christmas album, not even My Gift to You.

Here you are Sing: Peace Shall Come
They say he's here this night They say there shines a star above Tonight
They say to follow the light They say its gonna be bright Tonight...........
And heave'ns angels sing Gifts of gold we bring For our new King And peace shall come to everyone
He lays in manger tight They say his birth will make things right Tonight...................
And heaven's angels sing Gifts of gold we bring For our new King Peace shall come Gifts of gold we bring For our new King And peace shall come Peace shall come to everyone.....I love this one too Graeme PS has anyone noticed that hayley has changed 'king' to 'boy' in little road to bethlehem? But there's 'king' in the above lyric which is hayley's own. Any explanations anyone?

Hi Graemek Thank you so much I've emailed this to my friend but I've just noticed a couple of grammatical errors so I'll re-send it again tomorrow...she's now asking for the lyrics in French to All with you, and my parents are asking for them in English...I do wish they would listen harder!!! and that my friend hadn't lost the case when we were listening to it earlier so if u could help me with this i will be soooooooooooooooooooooo grateful thank u!!! (well... not the missing case obviously ) I feel like crying now...i had a little row earlier and now i've been banned from listening to any cds or watching tv for the rest of this week.. .that's my idea of torture at the moment still i'm allowed online though and i heard this cd about 5 times today. anyway, thank you so much Graeme !! As for changing 'king' to 'boy' i'm not sure why she's done that..maybe to create a slightly different feel to the song wish i could be more help with that one best wishes Sing... who is really regretting rowing over something stupid right now
