Right, ready for the next batch. I hope you are not getting bored. I have to say that, because where Hayley is concerned, I never could. So I tend to go on about her a bit too much for most people, perhaps even some of her fans. Right the next one, which has some issues with the sound quality, as might be expected with an outdoor concert is And I have another one from the second half too. I have heard Hayley sing all of the songs in the first half several times. So I gravitate towards the ones I have never heard her sing before. This is perhaps my favourite of all of them, even better than Jerusalem I think. It is quite simply magnificent. I love it! What a singer! What a voice!

WOW!!!! Rule Britannia is incredible!!! Thank you!!! A lot of Hayley's folk songs are quite soft and slow, so you don't get to hear the true depth and strength of her voice!!! Ahhh... the perfect start to a Saturday morning!!!

Thanks, Martin. This wasn't the "Jerusalem" I was thinking of. I thought it was going to be the one Sophie sang at her concert. Oh, well, it was still nice, though!

Hi Libby,
So I DID disappoint you after all. Sorry. I think the one you are thinking of is called "The Holy City". I don't know if you know about the Jerusalem that Hayley sang, but it is based on the idea, popular with the Victorians, that Jesus came to Britain and lived, I think near Glastonbury, for a while. This is a speculation about what Jesus did in his missing years, between his visit to the Jerusalem Temple aged 12 and the start of his ministry in Palestine. The theory is that at some point. something happened to his "father", Joseph, who was cerainly not around at the time of Jesus' crucifixion. After this, Jesus' uncle, Joseph of Arimathrea, who was a merchant, took him to various places, including England. William Blake wrote a peom about it, which later was set to music as the hymn "Jerusalem" which Hayley sang at Beaumanor.
This is now a part of the traditional "Last Night of the Proms" which takes place each summer in the Royal Albert Hall. The show always ends with the same selection of Brtish patriotic songs, including Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory, which Hayley performed at Beaumanor. I had never heard Hayley do that before. She did it brilliantly, but I think there were problems with Land of Hope and Glory, which I will come to if I can worrk up the courage to upload that video, which has more of my singing than Hayley's I'm, afraid.

Right, here is the next one. After this it gets much more difficult! Martin

The reason it gets more difficult is that Photobucket limits videos to five minutes duration. So I needed to find another site for the last two. Mediafire was recommended , as it doesn't have a time limit although there is a file size limit. So for these longer files I've had to degrade the quality yet again. The video quality that is, the bitrate is a quarter of that of the best of these. But I won't touch the sound quality, after all that is what really matters. www.mediafire.com/?xnw4m3x35zaI'm hoping this will work, although the site implies that you might need to download the file before you can play it. I don't think the quality is too bad. Hine e Hine. Martin

Now this one is beyond the pale. I agonised about it, should I post it or not? There are all sorts of issues with it. I have had to cut down the video quality again. And as it was raining, raindrops were appearing on my lens as I filmed it. And Hayley had problems too. But it has the merit of being a bit like those wondeful videos from St James's last year, where we hear Hayley singing without a microphone. This time she had a microphone, it is just that it seems to have been switched off. Whether that was intended or not we will probably never know, but Hayley, as you will see, made the best of it. Nothing fazes her does it? You will hear three predominant voices, Hayley of course (and her final note, through a mike would had been stupendous I am sure) that of Paul Hillam the conductor, and I'm ashamed to say mine which was out of tune. But perhaps it is the best chance I will ever have to sing a duet with Hayley. Except that is was really a several hundred-et. We also see my wife Sue's moment of glory when she rushed forward, before the singing started, to present Hayley with a Union Jack, which at least gave her (Hayley) something to do, apart from trying to sing with a dead microphone. Anyway, enough of that. You will probably want to shoot me when you see the quality of this. www.mediafire.com/?qviwqdiitmbWell, OK perhaps it was personal vanity. But it is the sort of thing you don't see very often. And Hayley just seems to rise above all the problems. God Bless her. Martin

Hine e Hine Hi Martin, Thank you very much, I downloaded the video and it played fine, the quality is very good. Have you considered a file splitter software like HJSPLIT 2.4, it's a 344 Kb program, It splits files of any type and size. Does not need to be installed. Just click on hjsplit.exe and the program starts. This program can even handle files which are larger than 10Gb! You can split the files at any size you want, anyone that downloads the files will use that software to join the files, it's very easy to use and it works great! Best wishes, Paulo Correia

So I DID disappoint you after all. Sorry. I think the one you are thinking of is called "The Holy City". That's okay. I think if I'd thought about it some, I would've remembered the real title. But the word Jerusalem immediately conjured up the tune that Sophie sang, and since I wasn't familiar with that song, I just thought it must be that. And because I wanted to hear Hayley sing it. Oh, well, she can't sing everything! It's still nice to hear her sing different songs.

This has all been very interesting, and I have learned a ot about video editing and conversion. And to prove it I'm going to post an improved version of the first one, where Hayley is piped on stage. I think the first time I wasn't happy with it, but had spend too long mucking about and wanted to get something uploaded.I think this version is much better. www.mediafire.com/?z2fmzzduhg2Martin
