Hi Guys, Well, I'm back! I have had endless fun converting videos, or rather trying to find a way of doing so that results in an uploadable file of acceptable quality. Some of the conversion I did were shockers. I think lesson no 1 is don't try to use Windows Movie Maker with apple quicktime videos!! I now know how Dave must have torn his hair out trying to convert those ones from the World Games (which |I have yet to view - I have a lot of catching up to do). Anyway, I have done the first of my vidoes, and although I think there is still room for improvement, after several attempts taking an hour or so each to convert, you eventually give up. So although I am not very happy with the quality, here is my first video. This is the start of Hayley's "slot" in the first half of the concert, showing Hayley being piped on stage and then singing Pokarekare Ana. s46.photobucket.com/albums/f107/martinDn/?action=view¤t=01Piping_4-1mpg.flvSorry about the camera shake at the start of Pokarekare Ana. I got better at holding the camera steady as the concert progressed. Hope this works. Martin

Thanks for the video, Martin! I don't think I've ever heard 'Pokarekare Ana' played on the bagpipes before. Richard

I was determined to get you this one before I went to bed. This is something completely different from the secong half. We were told that neither Hayley nor the orchestra had rehearsed it. But they had decided to perform it in memory of the eights British soldiears who were killed in Afghanistan in the previous week. It was a very emotional moment. I'm afraid we still have some of the quality issues associated with the video compression that is needed to fit it into the 100K files size. I've tried a different way of linking to it, so we will see how it works. Just click on the picture below. This song I think contains some of the lowest notes I have ever heard Hayley sing. I Vow to the my country. And yes thanks Steve, we did have a good break, even if it did rain all day and all night on Friday. But this time we had no Hayley to compensate for getting wet! Martin

Hi Martin, Thanks very much for the latest video. It is a pleasure to see that one. I'm afraid we still have some of the quality issues associated with the video compression that is needed to fit it into the 100K files size. Thanks, but you didn't need to worry. The video itself is not displayed on the forum in the way that a photograph is. It is streamed direct from you photobucket account so, any file size limit is determined only by them. Provided the file is not so huge that members can't download it in a reasonable time, there isn't a problem. The only relevant file size is that of the screen shot which you have shown as a clickable link but that is only about 7Kb. Hope that helps. Roger

Wow, for never being rehearsed that's incredible. It just goes to show show how talented Hayley and the Orchestra are..
Thank you everyone for the photos and reports. I always love reading/seeing them.

I have watched the first video which was excellent. I splashed out today and bought the Replay Capture Suite from Applian Technologies. Using the Replay Media Capture program I can download the videos from Photobucket onto my computer and it worked great. I also have the Replay Video Catcher which should allow me to get a better quality video capture of any video I play on my computer so will be good when I want to transfer videos from my TV to my computer.
