HWI's 'Best Of' by elimination!

As Anna has told us, there is to be a 'Best Of Hayley Westenra' CD released in Japan. This thread is nothing to do with it!

I wondered if it might be fun for members of this forum to collectively put together their choice for a 'Best Of' CD by process of elimination. This idea could fall flat in which case, I'll just go away and sulk for a bit!

Below is a list of every song that Hayley has ever recorded (not including those which will appear on her forthcoming CD). These include everything from Walking in The Air, Hayley Westenra, My Gift To You, Pure, and Odyssey. It includes songs on the original and special editions, and every version worldwide where applicable. It also includes songs that appear only on the 'Live In New Zealand DVD', film soundtracks, and her guest appearances on other artists' CDs. If I have missed anything, let me know and I will edit them in.

The idea is this. Members may state one or two songs per post that they would NOT wish to be included on a compilation CD. When I see them, I will edit this post to turn those entries red. Therefore, please do not choose any that already appear in red (as they are already elimiated). Only name those which still appear in black at the time of posting. You may give your reasons if you wish but it is not obligatory.

Please do not make multiple posts - give other members a chance (but you can come back and have another go after a while).

We will assume that "our" compliation shall have 15 tracks. Let's see if we can reduce this list to 15. Okay, here we go...

Thanks for starting it off, Belinda. That one now appears in red. I think I will go for 'There's A Sparkle In Your Eyes'. Hayley's performance was wonderful but I just didn't care for the song.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your vote! I have now changed the eliminated songs from red to purple but I'm not convinced that is any better. What do you think? I see the background colour as more blue than green - I guess I'd call it cyan.

Roger, what about Hayley's contributions to the Celtic Woman concert? Wouldn't those count as well?

Hi Oksy,

I didn't include those as they haven't been released yet and we cannot be sure exactly which tracks will be included when it is. Before anybody questions it, I know WITA hasn't been released either but we have known about it for so long and many members will be familiar with a lot of the songs.

Hayley didn't like the song "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" when she was asked to sing it on "My gift to You".

I denominate 'You Are Water'. I don't like the heavy drumming on that track because it clashes with Hayley's voice.

I'll also eliminate 'Another Suitcase In Another Hall'. I haven't heard Hayley's version, but I've never liked the song.
