La Luna Che Non C’e 'coz I've never heard of it! By the way, I can't see the red when the background is blue/green (honest!). Oh, I don't know if the background is blue or green either!!! Cheers, Dave Quite understandable as the hues are sufficiently similar as to vibrate in the same frequency range for anyone even slightly defective in colour recognition. Peter S.

It has to be "Dell Amore Non Si Sa" - it just doesn't work for me

I must admit there are a couple of surprises there but it is getting very interesting. For convenience, here is a LINK to the original posts which opens in a new window. Aren't I good to you? Keep your least favourites coming, folks! Roger

That's gone, Belinda. Hey, I'm glad I put that link in now! Sure, you can have as many goes as you like but no more than two in any one post, and not lots of consecutive posts. When other members have made a few suggestions, you can come back again... and again... and so on! Roger

Hi folks. Here comes old 'wobbly' throwing in a spoke!
Since these songs are not recorded for the CD but are a bringng together of what has already been recorded, is everyone aware of the nature of the recording she made with each song?
While I am delighted to have in my archives the early NZ recordings these are not renditions I would want to hear now on a main CD. The girl today (as has been posted elsewhere) will, all too shortly, no longer be a teenage girl but unequivocably a young woman of maturity and experience.
Even between 'Pure' and 'Odyssey' one can hear the transition of the developing voice. If only because of the recording quality of the early CDs I would not want those recordings juxtaposed with the later recordings, even though one may wonder at the quality of voice of the very young girl.
Even accepting my own comment, to then turn down a Hayley recording, I have to confess i can't do it. Obviously someone has to and Roger's initiative is an intersting thread. How do you arrive at what you fit on?
I understand there are some twenty recorded tracks in the present recording session. How on earth do you reduce those twenty to ten or 12? Frankly, I could not do it. It will surely be done on balancing different world market tastes and providing an overall balanced/contrasted disc.
I can't take part in this one but I am interested in learning, not only what people discount, but more importantly, folks, please, WHY?

... I'll also eliminate 'Another Suitcase In Another Hall'. I haven't heard Hayley's version, but I've never liked the song... In all fairness, Richard, if you haven't actually heard Hayley's version -- while others have -- shouldn't you leave the decision to eliminate it to someone more informed?

Hi Peter,
I think you are taking this thread a little too seriously. It is merely a similar idea to "Name you favourite track" only in reverse. In eliminating one song, we are in effect, voting in favour of all the others. It is merely a bit of fun - no more.
Hayley, Steve and Decca reducing 20 tracks to the requisite number for the next CD is a task which I do not envy them. However, they are better positioned (we hope!) to judge the markets wordwide. Other than that, it is possibly a topic for further discussion in a separate thread.

If that were the case, hardly anyone would eliminate any track from WITA which means all 13 tracks on it would appear in the final 15 here. That rather defeats the point of having this thread. Richard's has made his suggestion for a perfectly valid reason and I am happy to accept it. Roger

I hereby eliminate "Amazing Grace" -- if ever a song has been done to death.

Quite right! I admit I am defeated. How can one remove/reduce/elinminte ANYTHING to do with Hayley. I will be following this comment with a response to KJ in an appropriate thread--the reason I am on at this time. Peter S.

Hi Folks I went through the remainder of the list.. This is like being asked to sacrifice one of your family.. And yes. It sounds like a good way to get a copy of the first album. Walking in the air So I'll shoot down Dido's Lament. Because I already have a few copies of it.

A copy of Walking in the Air? that's what you think, Comet! As you shot down one of my all-time Hayley favourites, I'm shooting down: Groovy Kind of Love! (It's OK, I was thinking about it anyway ) Dave
