That's really great to hear. I'd been hoping lately that Hayley would write song folk-ish songs for her next album. HSJS were her "pop" albums, right? I hope she releases a "folk" album sometime in the future. but for some reason that seems unlikely- 100% folk, I mean. I know her (Celtic) Treasure(s) album had a bit of a folk feel to it. After the second HSJS, I've had enough pop music for a while.

I liked the Japanese songs, but I wouldn't want her to only do one style for her international albums, and I don't think she ever will.

According to this, Hayley is currently (or has recently) been in the studio doing something or other... I found this in google images -- apparently it comes from Samon Promotion's yahoo blog -- but I couldn't see it on their site.

Hi Jillian I think that is a lovely way to send a message. Trust our Hayley to think of it. Best wishes Grant

Hi Jillian, Does that note say she will be in Japan in December? I thought it was October for Japan and December for Ireland and the U K.

Yes, Larry you have a point. I didn't know she was there in June either? Is this an old one, remember she was due to go there in December 2008 (but didn't, due to ill health)!
And she was definitely in Japan in June 2008!

Hi Martin and Larry
I think you're right and perhaps the scarf is a bit of a clue as Hayley regularly wore it during the early "River of Dreams" concerts and for the Valentines Tour as well.
I bet she was in studio for HSJS2.
Best wishes Grant

Great detective work, Grant and Martin. Since I have tickets to Dublin and Bath I was getting nervous. Hopefully she will also be in Limerick too. Hope you all will be there. I suppose it will be cold; but as long as it doesn't snow we'll be fine.
Be Well

Of course that means that this series of posts is off topic. It should be in the HSJS2 thread!

It must've been when she was recording for the RoD album. Or maybe for HSJS2? Does she actually have to record those in Japan, or can she do them in London? Uh-oh, off-topic again!

Libby,
HSJS2 was mostly recorded in London with a couple of songs, Mama E and Flower, recorded in New Zealand in January 2008 (note this was before HSJS1 was recorded). I think HSJS1 was entirely recorded in London.
The London recordings for HSJS2 were made in September/October 2008, so that must be when that photo dates from. HSJS2 was very much on Hayley's mind I thought when I spoke to her at the Lincoln Castle concert in August 2008, so I imagine she was busy choosing the songs and writing the lyrics at that time.

At the risk of going off topic. It was clarified some time ago that the 2008 date in the album was a misprint. See John's post HEREBest wishes Grant

Thanks Grant,
I had it in my head that it was Jan 09, but I checked the album sleeve and it said 08. You can't believe everything you read.
Cheers
