Hello everyone, I managed to catch a word or two with Steve Abbott at tonight's All Angels concert in London and one of the things he mentioned, and that I can say, is a rough outline of what is currently planned next year for Hayley's main album releases. Hayley's next International album is pencilled-in for release at the end of the Northern Hemisphere Summer or early Autumn, this will be follow-up to Treasure and Hayley's 4th International album. No albums are currently planned for release in the Spring of 2008 but there may be an album released for the Japanese market in the early Summer, which sounds like it will be one to watch. That's all I have at the moment, not much... but I thought you'd all like to know it anyway. Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave, Thanks for this info regarding Hayley's 4th international album. I'll make note of the tentative timeframe that was mentioned (as soon as I get a 2008 calendar) Joe

Hi Dave, Many thanks for the update on Hayley's 4th album. I understand there won't be any 'Treasure UK special edition' then? Stephany

OK- quick album name brainstorm- Ethreal(sp??), Elements, the Aurora of NZ, umm- Liberty, Forevermore (is that two words???), and- Diamond, or the name of some precious stone, such as Pearl or Emerald or Jade- this could go on FOREVER(more)!!!

Hello everyone, Yes Belinda ... but all Hayley's albums are unique! Stephany, your suspicions are correct and it seems there will be no UK Special Edition of Treasure. But as we know only too well, things can change (and often do! ). Cheers, Dave

Your post 934 Dave about October release of new CD in NZ is interesting but... could she afford to be in NZ for two reasonably long periods in one year: February vineyard tour and again in October? On the other hand... as we discussed at Bath, you and I, this could be a start for a more realistic launch schedule round the world: Oz, SE Asia, Japan, then cross USA for the Christmas market. Home for Christmas break--or host family in UK for a change...(very unlikely) and UK launch Jan 2009 in the otherwise 'dead' period? Then Europe, treating Europe as Europe, as she likes EuroStar travel? Peter S. Hi Peter, as mentioned above in this thread, the 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter of 2008 is currently pencilled-in for Hayley's next album release so something around the time of the NZ Music Awards (October) would not be inconsistent with that. As Hayley's short promo visit to NZ gave a big boost to the sales of Treasure in NZ (Hayley's 2nd biggest market) it seems to make good sense to do the same kind of thing when the next album is released. I'm sure it would be worth doing for the extra sales alone and of course, Hayley will want to grab the opportunity of another trip home and to hopefully to collect a Highest Selling Album award too. This means Decca would need to release in the UK quite a bit earlier (or later) than in NZ so she could put in the necessary time effectively to promote it in both Countries (and Oz). I think over a month of promo is needed to achieve a successful UK launch, so a late summer UK release still makes sense - especially if she will be doing a series of UK Summer concerts next year. Release dates in Hayley's other markets will probably be slotted in around the NZ and UK releases and Hayley's other (so far unknown) major commitments so I daren't even guess about them at the moment except to say 'late Summer or early Autumn' (North of the Equator). Cheers, Dave

ok- the only word in that title whose definition I know is Kiwi! I sure hope her next album isn't called that!

From Odyssey to Treasure, Hayley's music is more and more personal. The next one will probably be even more personal. Maybe more self-composed songs will be included.

So why not just call it "Hayley"?

Hmm... But Hayley's first NZ album is already called 'Hayley Westenra'. Wouldn't it be too confusing then, if there's another 'Hayley' album?

Timmigut
Dunno. The Beatles had 3 albums with "Beatles" in the name. Yes has even more I think, but off the top of my head, "Yes", "The Yes Album" and "Yessongs". There may have been more.
How about "Angel"?
