From what Hayley wouldn't (or couldn't) say, from what I've heard and read over the last few days, and especially knowing the Japanese album is already a huge success over there, it would not surprise me one little bit if Hayley's next International album turns out to have a distinctly Japanese theme... Hello Dave I read your post with great interest this evening and have been thinking about it whilst I have been out for a drink with friends. A few posts ago I suggested that it would be great IMO, if some of the tracks from Hayley's Japanese album were included on Hayley's 4th International album. Am I right in thinking that what you are suggesting is that Hayley may actually have recorded some additional songs along the same theme for inclusion in the next international release? OMG!! That would be phenomenal!! Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant, no I'm not suggesting that, I really don't want to try and guess what the recent recordings might be - they are perhaps more likely to be some Western type of songs to enable any Japan flavoured album to be tailored to the local markets of other Countries such as the UK, NZ and US... but that's guesswork. We do know that Hayley's last International Album had an Irish flavour, so why not a Japanese theme for the next one, with the initial Japan release as a test? The one thing I seriously hope it is NOT is any kind of "Best of" album, which is why I have now nailed my colours to the mast! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes, I agree. I would prefer it if her next international album was all new. But for the UK market, she will probably still want to make it "classical", which means recording enough classical songs to qualify for that. What the rest will be, who knows. With the right packaging and promotion though, the Japanese album could really take off in the West. IMO it is a strong candidate for the best album ever recorded by a solo singer (OK, I know there is a duet). I really am as impressed as that with it!

Hello Everyone,
What I have read in Hayleys' autobio., what Decca wanted for the U.S. market, her new Japanese album fits the bill.
My Best, Howard

Hayley will have to make a non-classical album sometime because she will eventually run out of suitable classical songs - and the best time to do this would be when she has made an excellent and unusual easy listening album. Like now! That does not mean it will necessarily happen, of course. Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave and everybody! I think Hayley is now very well established here in the UK, so this is the ideal time for her to try something different without necessarily aiming for the classical charts. Other singers including Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson have already had successful non-classical albums, and now it could be Hayley's turn. The popularity of the Japanese album is a good indicator, so let's wait and see what happens! Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Graham and everyone, This week's "Music Week" magazine contains a list of all known album releases in the UK, for the rest of the year. Hayley is listed as: "Hayley Westenra (to be announced) 3rd November 2008." This seems to be the first "firm" information we have had about the next release date, although they did spell Hayley's surname wrong, grrr!!! Judging by the other releases they listed and by the lack of information about any September release to date, this date looks like a fair bet and if true, it may be a "promotion" for Hayley in the release schedule (November is a high-selling month). Well I hope so! Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave,
November, eh? This is amazing news if it is confirmed by Bedlam. I suppose it could coincide with a possible UK tour in october/november?!
Cheers Stephany

Great news, Dave. How about a NZ tour in January? Oh I hope the album won't be released in NZ when I'm on holiday in America! Dori

Hi Dave That's great news and something more to look forward too! Is the October concert tour still feasible? I would have thought that a string of concerts immediately after release would be better - then Hayley would be able to include songs from the new album - or maybe she'd prefer to include Japanese songs? Either way, my Christmas pressy list just got made a whole lot easier! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, I have to agree with you. I actually thought that tours usually follow an album's release, so I'm not sure how this would work. We'll have to wait and see... I wonder is Hayley already has a title for her album, but just not sharing it? Dori

Hi Stephany, Grant and Dori, Yes I like the idea of a November release because of the potential for some quite big sales between then and Christmas but of course, it's nearly 5 months away and at that distance, the date may well change anyway. I'd imagine UCJ will want to juggle the release dates for all their artists to fit in with high publicity events like tours and TV appearances, some of which won't even be confirmed yet (who knows, maybe Hayley will get some TV?) and yet avoiding clashes with other UCJ artists. So i guess we will just have to keep watching this space! Cheers, Dave

and yet avoiding clashes with other UCJ artists. Will Martin's debut album is released in the UK on September 22 by UCJ. Not sure if it's a good thing that Hayley's new CD is released shortly after? Stephany
