Carrickfergus....excellent suggestion, Martin. It's an amazingly beautiful song that I discovered thanks to Orla Fallon but I would love to hear Hayley perform it. With Orla on the harp, of course!

*All are requested to stand. **All are invited to sing.
Hayley would wear the green dress and heels she's been wearing recently for her first two songs, then a sober-looking black dress and heels for when she sings most of the religious pieces. For the patriotic finale she would wear something entirely new, and maybe a little campy: blue lame' skirt and white top with puffy red sleeves, with red keyhole heels. Katherine would probably wear first her white and fuschia short dress, then switch into her purple sleeveless one for the second two suites, and put on a blue dress with some kind of red and white decorations for the finale. The men would stick to white dinner jacket throughout, but might add Union Jack-patterned bow ties for the finale.
Benches would be set up, no ground-sitting for this, but those who bought "premium" tickes would be seated at tables up front and be able to order food, ranging from fruit salad up to roast beef with horseradish sauce. All programmes would be issued with Union Jacks for the audience to wave during the finale. And there would be a select 75 people who would get passes to say hi to the performers after the fireworks end.

Some time ago I though up an Easter program for Hayley and guests. I think this sort of thing almost only works with Hayley as a "guest" or "featured" soloist like she was with the Boston Pops, it's a little hard to get twelve songs without dipping into her "standard" repertoire and departing from the theme of the concert. But without further ado:
BSO Productions Presents
EASTER JOYS
Boston Pops Orchestra: Keith Lockhart conducting Tanglewood Festival Chorus: John Oliver, Director
Featuring
Hayley Westenra, soprano
and introducing
Kristyn Murphy, soprano
March 22, 2008, 8 P.M. Symphony Hall, Boston, MA Prelude: Andante Pastorale, from The Light of the World by Sullivan Chorus: Christ Lay in the Bounds of Death, Bach Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs, from Messiah Hayley and chorus: Were you There? He Could Have Called 10,000 Angels Ave Verum by Mozart Kristyn: "Jesus Paid It All" Chorus: God So Loved the World, by Sir John Stainer Finale to the St. John Passsion, Bach Intermission Easter Festival Overture by Shostakovich Hayley and Chorus:
Easter Prayer from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni Hymn : Christ the Lord is Ris'n Today Hayley: I Know that My Redeemer Liveth, from Messiah O Divine Redeemer, from The Redemption, by Charles Gounod I Say Grace (with chorus) The Mummer's Dance You Raise Me Up Kristyn:
"In The End of the Sabbath" "Jesus is My Song of Grace" Hayley and Kristyn: Pie Jesu
Hayley, Kristyn and Chorus:
Hymn: Alleluia! Alleluia! Let the Holy Anthem Rise Finale: Hallelujah, from Christ on the Mount of Olives, by Beethoven Encore: Easter Parade Both Hayley and Kristyn would wear black for the first half and pink for Hayley and purple for Kristyn in the second. With matching heels, of course, despite Kris billing herself as the "Barefoot Soprano" she usually does wear shoes to sing.

Sorry about exceeding the 2 hour limit, thought an all day concert might be a cool idea (plus I got carried away) i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. No set list as it just takes me too long to write these posts Basically, I used the last post to learn how to use the features while creating messages. Hope I get quicker !! C Ya. Wayne P.S. Of course this concert would contain many duets, crossing between groups. Maybe a duel between Natalie and Mairead, or Hayley singing with Elton on the piano. How cool would that be ?

Sorry about exceeding the 2 hour limit... That's quite alright, gabinzki. In fact it is almost compulsory! I am delighted to see you have included the Rankins as they are one of my favourite groups of all time. Roger
