Hmmm... I see that Hayley's first "Best of" compilation album is scheduled for release in Japan on March 22nd 2006 www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail.asp?sku=1405159 . I can find no further details (e.g tracklisting) at the moment and as I write, there is no mention of it on Hayley's official Japanese website. It will interesting to see if any other Countries decide to release similar compilations. Hayley will be recording some additional tracks for special editions of Odyssey - but no all-new album is planned this year as far as I know. This Japanese "Best of" album may tell us what is planned for release later this year in other Countries. Dave

Isn't it a bit too early for Hayley to release a "Best of" album? I thought singers do that towards the end of their careers (or try to save the career).

Hi Jenny, It does seem a little premature, I agree. But, in most cases, it is not the singer who makes the decision, but the record company. Often, the singer doesn't even know about it until a fan asks them to sign one! I once knew of 110 different compilations for a particular vocal group and they had only been made aware of six! In Hayley's case, we are talking about "The Best of" being released in Japan which may be an entirely different situation. As we know, there are many tracks from both Pure and Odyssey that have only been released one or two versions around the world. There may be plans to introduce these to the Japanese market which would make a lot of commercial sense. Provided a handful of the *really* well-known and popular tracks are included, nobody could argue that it didn't include "The Best of". I'll buy it! Roger

Thanks for the track list, Kimberly. Wow...what a great collection of music. Is this "Best of Hayley" set still scheduled for a release date of March 22nd?
Now I'm wondering if I like this or the Odyssey SE better.

Hmmm . . . that sounds like an interesting tracklist. It's sad there are only three songs from Pure. But it looks good anyway. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI wonder what the "Danny Boy/Carrickfergus" is like. The Choirboys sing a song like this, but it is mostly "Danny Boy." I wonder what Hayley will do with it. This is getting complicated! I'll probably have to buy this too if it has a new song! If this one had "Scarborough Fair" on it, then I wouldn't have to, but it doesn't have it. I wonder what cover this album will have.

Hi, I have just found the cover here. www.universal-music.co.jp/classics/hayley_westenra/discography.htmlIt is very similar to the UK Special Edition Odyssey. Raymond

Hello, as far as i know it doesn't have Danny Boy / Carrickfergus but it's Scarborough Fair on track 9. is this track on any other album? the album title is Crystal ~ Classical Favourite. Hayley is named as the crystal voice around this area. this is the very first posting of mine - i'm new here. i'm a Korean fan, so i need your understanding about my poor English.

Hello Anna, and welcome to the Forum! I believe Hayley's version of "Scarborough Fair" is going to be on the new UK Special Edition of 'Odyssey', due for release on either 27th March or 3rd April this year. It's also going to have the same picture on the cover. You can see the full tracklisting according to HMV on Kimberly's post here. It's great to see a new member from Korea, and I look forward to reading all your future posts. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard
