By the way, I've always been wondering what exactly 'UCCL' means. I've Googled it but came up with nothing. Does anyone know? Hi Tinmeigut You've asked a question here that has fascinated me for some time, and I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't actually mean anything. I believe that it is simply part of the alpha-numeric coding system that Japan uses to identify individual CD releases. All Hayley's Japan released CD's begin with the UCCL code, but I'm not certain it is unique to her. Other performers are allocated similar codes, for example, Mike Oldfield's 'Music of the Spheres' begins with the code UCCS although this is also used for some Adrea Bocelli CD's and even Hayley and Vittorio's 'West Side Story, whilst Russell Watson is UCCD. There are many other 4 letter codes used in a fashion similar to the method for coding civilian aircraft where the first was AAAA followed by AAAB etc. There is also some logic to the numbers used after the letter code as they seem to be grouped in some way. Pure was UCCL-1073; Odyssey UCCL-1096; Prayer UCCL-1120. The first Amazing Grace single was UCCL-5001 and the new one, soon to be released is UCCL-5004 The new Japanese album that we are all waiting with bated breath for will be UCCL-9058. However, the logic is confounded by the fact that the 'Wuthering Heights' single (2004) was UCCL-1080!! Can anyone confirm my thoughts? or provide alternatives? I would also be interested to hear! I would imagine UCCL may mean
Universal Classics / Classical / Crossover/
The L maybe Light or simply an alphabetical listing or category

Hi, I noticed the tracklisting for Crystal has "Danny Boy/Carrickfergus." Is this different from the Danny Boy on Treasure?

Northern Lights appears to have obtained information from a post made by kcuteus1, HERE. Unfortunately, kcuteus1 hasn't logged in for over a year and I don't know where she obtained the information. [Kimberley, where are you?!] As Joyce has confirmed that 'Danny Boy/Carrickfergus' does not appear on her copy of Crystal, I think we have to assume that kcuteus1 somehow got it wrong. I wonder if she has an unreleased version of Danny Boy as a medley with Carrickfergus, or if that was simply error? I have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find Crystal. Where did you purchase your copy? I love the songs they chose for the compilation and the CD artwork is all new! Call me crazy. |
