TimJ Hi Timj From Heathrow London Underground Piccadilly line runs into the city, change at Green Park onto Victoria Line and alight at Victoria Station. There is a half hourly service to Canterbury East Station. Alternatively National Express may run a coach service which might be cheaper but I don't have details. For accommodation in Canterbury, ring Tourist Information on 01271-336020 or their web site www.kenttourism.co.uk. Hope this helps Grant

Hi
Anne and I will be at Canterbury on the 27th so hope to see some/all we met at Wisley Gardens in June. We got tickets for National Express coach for £8 return from London. None of the hotels in Canterbury city centre were particularly cheap.
Are there plans to meet up before the concert?
We will be also be travelling "up north" to Sheffield for Christmas Presense on 8th December. Virgin trains do an advance single to/from London for £6 but you have to book early and look at their web site each day! The hotels are cheaper there too!
Regards
Tony B.

Hi Tony,
I am delighted to hear you will be in Canterbury and I had wondered if it might be within "your" area. We don't have any plans for meeting yet but several of us are usually in the area well before kick-off. Perhaps anyone else who is going would like to indicate an arrival time and a possible meeting place?
Roger

Hi Richard. You forgot to include me!! So that makes 8 so far. Looking forward to meeting you all as I've only met Peter and Thomas so far. Grant Hi Richard and All. You'll have to change that number yet again because I'M COMING TOO! Just booked an unreserved so I shall either be standing a long time at the door or being incredibly philosophical because...? I'm not coming for Hayley! I'm coming for the camaraderie of HWI! HOWEVER I am coming for Hayley on another occasion, but to disclose that I will have my knuckles wrapped for GOING OFF TOPIC! So, while on topic, I have no idea of my plans at the moment. Probably drive down having a leisurely lunch somewhere on the way, so no chance to make a lunch-time meeting. Probably book into a basic cabin just out of town and roll in to find a parking space as the market visitors go home and clear them. It would therefore seem that even for those with reserved tickets meeting outside the great doors two hours before (if that is early enough) would be the best place. Maybe there's an eatery in the fast food classification from which one could obtain cups of coffee to help wile the time, leaving someone to keep our places as we alternate to'ing and fro'ing? For the continuation, so as to stay ON TOPIC in each thread I shall now continue on the Harrogate thread. Now why on earth would I want to go all the way to Harrogate? Even for Hayley! Peter S.

When I checked the link Grant gave it came up with n 'unauthorised access' rejection. This link worked for me. www.kenttourism.co.uk/en/index.asp from a Google search. [ MODIFICATION about 10 minutes later. Richard's following post of which i was not at that time aware would appear to be a better link.] Good on you to come all the way.I guess you have other things in mind? Such as a few days viewing Canterbury/London? When I think of seeing Hayley in the States it is because I try to combine her appearances with another reason. I am not in the class i can just 'hop on a plane' for Hayley. Although it is rather wonderful that at Cadogan we had someone driving up from Dorset, one flying in from Scotland and one flying in from Germany--just for three songs from Hayley! And of course the possibility of actually meeting her. I doubt in all modern theatrical history few stars have had such raptured enchantment and determination from their fans! Peter S.

At first I thought HWI would be thin on the ground at Canterbury and although I'm beginning to loose track, I believe with Peter now coming that makes 17!! and if Tim can make it from the US then we'll be 18!!!!!
As I've only met Peter, George & family and Thomas, I would love it if we could somehow meet up before hand and obviously with Hayley later if possible.
I'm arriving in Canterbury at lunch time on Friday to have a good look round as I've never been before and intend to have a meal out before the concert.
Perhaps someone with local knowledge could make some suggestions.
I'm really looking forward to meeting so many new faces, although I feel I know many of you already!!
Best wishes
Grant

Grant, I shall endeavour to bring a new face because I'm tired of the old one! Hey Tim, it would indeed be great if you could join us. I hope you are able to find suitable board and lodgings as we all look forward to meeting you. Roger

Hi Tim, Hayley is scheduled to record her new album in London in November so it's unlikely she will be able to go to North America then. She will be able to sing in Canterbury though, as it's near London and also, it's not quite in November! Back on topic, OK Richard? Cheers, Dave

Hi everybody going to Canterbury. I am local to Canterbury, only about 9 miles away so will be hovering around during the day, just in case Hayley does any impromtu busking on one of the street stages. Anybody that has not been to Canterbury before will probable want to look around the Cathedral beforehand and do the pilgrims tour. The imformation centre is right oposite the Cathedral entrance. See you all there. Tony

Hello,
Sounds like its going to be a really good concert.
Would love to go but unfortunately I'm away that week so no chance. At least HWI will provide all the news, pictures and sounds.
Hope everyone who is going has a good time and Hayley is on top form.
Katie
