Thanks Richard, the lighting was a bit harsh, but even so I am pleased with the result. Yes indeed Steve, the main stage lighting was appalling for photography! Not only was it very "orange/yellow" rather than daylight/blue, but it was directly overhead and fairly close to the main performers, resulting in an extreme contrast of bright highlights and large dark shadows on their faces. I found that no overall correction on the computer for contrast, brightness and colour balance resulted in an ideal result. Something always ended up wrong and keeping the right shade of red for Hayley's dress while correcting other things was nigh on impossible! Painstaking manual colour correction (face, arms, dress, background... all corrected separately) may be the only way to bring out *everything* we want but I don't think I'm going to do that with my photos, not at the moment anyway. Too time consuming. I think with this range of contrast and the "difficult" lighting, old fashioned slide film would have been best but then, we would have risked incorrect exposures and missing some of the best "action" shots. RAW mode should have produced the best "digital" results in these conditions and I don't think there will be many concerts as challenging for digital cameras as this one; yours and Stuarts photos came through it very well indeed! Cheers, Dave

Hi
What a great concert! Thanks to Richard for saving places in the front for us. We arrived at 5.20pm and there was a very long queue in front of us. I wish I had brought my camera now as I did not think we would be so near to the stage. Many thanks to all who put such good photos on the forum. We travelled back to London by train with Lothar. I am looking forward to the next concert!
Tony

Thanks for that, Tony! I was there three hours before you and Anne, but the queue only started forming at about 4:15pm. Hayley must have been delighted by the size of the crowd, because the concert was never publicised on her official web site. Many thanks to Lothar for finding the information and starting this thread! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard
